the size compared to what has been produced over the years is now half that! they are just as stong and last the same, so why not use a battery the is smaller AND lighter. i will be buying another six of these, before the price changes and they go out of stock.

Seems to hold what is advertised and weight is very good. Not sure it is good enough for my 90A 5" fpv quad, but works great for AtomRC Dolphin at 45A peak draw along with a 4S 4200mAh Lion.

Ovonic LiPo batteries are winners! During the past few years, I have purchased over a dozen of these jewels for my 3D airplanes and RC cars. They are slightly smaller in size, are lighter than the competition, and they have terrific flexible silicone wiring with excellent connectors. Like most top-quality batteries, after a couple usage cycles, they stabilize and consistently charge within +/- 0.2 volts per cell. They have low internal resistance, remain cool during use, and provide a bit extra operating time.As an RC engineer in my youth, I was often amazed at the poor treatment most RC hobbyists inflicted upon their batteries. Sadly, there is WAY too much folklore and misunderstanding about batteries within the hobby community. Hobbyists often do all the wrong things for all the wrong reasons.Sadly, high-amperage charging is very common, as is excessive discharging. Also, few people even take the time to allow their batteries cool down before charging. In addition, most folks typically store LiPo batteries for lengthy periods when fully charged.Unless we are preparing a LiPo battery for storage (or unless there are significant voltage differences among the cells of a LiPo battery), there really is no need to routinely discharge a LiPo battery. Actually, excessive discharging often creates more problems than it solves. Deep discharging can actually create a voltage imbalance among the cells. Also, discharging below approximately 3.0V causes irreversible damage to the battery's internal chemistry. After use, LiPo batteries should be discharged (or charged) to 3.8 volts per cell. This is their "storage" voltage. Many chargers have a storage setting and will automatically discharge a LiPo to this safe storage voltage. When LiPo batteries are manufactured, they typically sit for months before purchase and use. They are shipped from the factory in a 3.8 volt per cell state. This storage voltage is very stable and dramatically extends the battery life. Also, storing a LiPo at this safe voltage prevents swelling and dead cells. If you regularly perform this 3.8 volt per cell storage precaution, you will smile when it is time to again fully charge and use your LiPo battery several days, weeks or months later.Additionally, ALWAYS use balanced charging on any LiPo battery with more than a single cell (1S). Also, do not cook LiPo batteries with excessively high charging rates. Low to moderate charge rates work just fine and allow the battery to last a long time. With most common 2S, 3S & 4S batteries, I recommend a charge rate of 1 to 2 amps. Even with a very high C rating, LiPo batteries do much better when slowly charged. We get considerably better battery performance and a much longer battery lifespan. My own dual charger goes up to an insane 16 amps (did you want those fried or scrambled)? Charging at 2 amps requires about one hour to fully and safely charge most common LiPos. If you're racing or in a hurry, just buy additional batteries.Despite all the common stories at the field or track, fast charging a LiPo actually degrades optimal battery performance. It shortens the battery life and it can also create spontaneous combustion. If you've ever seen a lithium battery ignite, you'll never forget it!High amperage charging is the #1 most destructive thing folks do to these little power cells. The #2 most injurious is storing a fully charged LiPo for extended periods. This isn't just opinion, it is scientific fact. Again, allow LiPo batteries to cool before charging and charge them at a low to moderate rate. When finished using LiPo batteries, they should be put away at a storage voltage of 3.8 volts per cell. Before discovering Ovonic LiPos, I purchased only expensive name brand batteries (Spektrum, Traxxas, Precision Aerobatics, etc.). Years ago, that was the smart thing to do. However, for a recent project, I was looking for a very lightweight 4S 2200mAh battery for an ultra-light 48" wingspan 3D airplane (with 3D, every gram counts). In my research, I came across Ovonic (only 176g) and was impressed with their manufacturing quality and the price.Ovonic are now my go-to LiPo batteries. Their performance is truly impressive -- and I can usually buy 2 Ovonic batteries for the price of just one of the major brands. Check them out for yourself... you'll be glad you did.
