I bought this to store my shoes: slippers, tennis shoes and heels. It has 8 rows with 5 slots each. That’s the first issue. Why? Shoes come in pairs, so each row makes you split one pair of shoes into two different rows.Now if you are like most women, you wear heals, high tops tennis shoes or just a basic running shoe. The slots only allow you to insert half the shoe, the toe side. What’s the issue, when you can only insert half the shoe, it covers the slot for the row above it, so you can’t use that row of slots to put other shoes in it. So basically forty slots turns into only 20.The slots are covered with a mesh. Great if the mesh expanded to allow room for most of the shoe to be inserted, but this is not the case. What probably would have worked is if the rows contained an even number of slots, with more room between each row, with an expanding elastic type mesh to allow shoes of different thicknesses to be inserted.Final issue: The organizer attaches to your door with four hanger type metal hooks. Issue is the top of the hook is wide, so when you place it over the top of the door, is doesn’t fit snugly. That causes the hook to slide slightly diagonal, causing the door to not close because the metal hooks is not sitting flat. Bend it right? Nope, the hook is made of a metal that I literally had a hard time bending so it snugly fit, so now every time I close my door - sometimes it closes and sometimes it catches part of the hook and bounces open.Though I really like the material it was made out of, it really didn’t work the way I needed. It wasn’t worth the money to buy a 40 slot shoe organizer that I can only use 20 slots on due to the way the rows are closely set and I most certainly dont like splitting up one pair of my shoes because there are only 5 slots per row and I definitely dont like not having my shoes fit into the slots. What’s even more annoying, is having to now watch my door to see if it closes behind me when I enter and exit my room. VERDICT: I really don’t like this product, even if it was a good idea gone astray.

If you have shoes but not a lot of spaces, then this is a good option. I don’t think that it’s a pretty solution but it keeps things a little neat and orderly. This organizer appears to be made of sturdy canvas. The mesh allows your shoes to breathe. It is strange that there are 5 pockets so you can only have two pairs of shoes and a fifth slot for a single shoe. It is also not very deep.

This would be great for like anything other than shoes. Not even my son’s shoes fit in the slots.
