I like this product because the binding is strong so the pages don’t fall out over time. It is the perfect size to fit neatly into a shirt pocket.

These little notebooks are so convenient fitting right in my shirt pocket with a mechanical pencil ready in an instant for me to pull it out and jot down a thought, a name, a song, an artist, an idea for a story, a short list of items to pick up at the store.I like it better than the spiral books i have used before because these little books encourage me to save them so that i can look up the ideas later. The spiral notebooks were all just thrown away.

Well they are the same small size as the Moleskin mini note books but the binding ( two staples and not sewn cotton and glued). Plus the paper quality is poorer and there a fewer pages as well much poorer covers. A purchase not to be repeated.

These were purchased to be used in a leather cover, in place of Volant XS notebooks (which are pretty costly). The normal dimensions of a Volant XS should be 2.5 inch by 4 inch. That is the size that these are described to be. However, these notebooks are very noticeably smaller. The actual measurements are 2-5/16 inch wide by 3-15/16 inch tall. The height is almost right but the width is a full 3/16 too small.That may not sound like much, but when the whole book is supposed to be 2-1/2 inches, 3/16 is a big difference.Since the notebooks are too small rather than too large, they will still fit in the leather cover, of course. So I can still use them. Still it's odd that they are so much smaller than they should be.For some people the smaller size might be a benefit (maybe you want a small notebook for your wallet, or for an Altoids kit, for example).Setting aside the question of size, the notebooks themselves are basically OK.The Kraft cover is thick and seems durable. The paper shows ink a little using a Fisher Space Pen but not so much that it makes it unusable; you can just kind of see the text through the page. If you are planning to use a fountain pen, a rollerball, or a Sharpie, the bleed-through would be considerable. You could probably only use one side per page.The binding is not sewn, it's just two staples, but it seems sufficient. The lines are a bit wide apart, with 11 usable lines per page and a top and bottom margin, so 13 total lines to write on. There are 30 sheets, yielding 60 pages. The paper is a pleasant light-yellowish hue.Adequate is the description I would give to these notebooks.Another reviewer said they received only 33. I received all 36 notebooks.I paid about 28 dollars including tax for 36 books, so that averages out to 78 cents per mini notebook.For that price it's hard to be too mad at them.They're not great and they're not terrible, so I am rating them 3 stars. If the width had been correct it would have been 4.Additional: I used the plain brown notebooks all the time and they've been fine even though they were a bit too small. So, I ordered these identical books but in the multi-color set - and the multi-color ones are LARGER than 2.5" instead of smaller. The height is the same, but the width is 2-11/16 inches (almost 2-3/4). So I got one set that is 3/16 inch too small, and one set that is 3/16" too large. They are still decent books but they are just not 2.5 inches as described.
