I got these to use with some smart light bulbs. They work well. They have a single strip of metal in the plastic Screw threads that supply line voltage where others are completely metal that probably work longer, but these work fine.

Sometimes you just need a light somewhere, but don't want the wire. This socket simply plugs into an outlet, or plug strip and allows standard size light bulbs to screw into them. I needed a light solution in my chicken coop. I thought about running a custom length wire to a socket mounted to the ceiling, but why. I have a smart outlet strip up high on the wall of the coop, so this was perfect. Now I can just tell our smart speaker to tun on the coop light. No.. this is not a smart socket, but rather plugged into a smart outlet. You get four of these in the box, and they are polarized so no worries of electrical shock. (Unless you stick you finger into the socket of course).
