I was rather obsessed with finding the perfect winter coat for these cold Michigan days without feeling like I looked like the Hulk. Winter coats are often so bulky. I ordered a Cotopaxi, L.L. Bean and a Nano Puff from Patagonia. Some of them were great but I just couldn't stand paying upwards of $250 on a jacket. I came across this jacket by Outdoor Adventures on a gear site that was comparing jackets on multiple levels. They gave this a high rating and even compared it to a Patagonia Nano Puff. It's $55 so I thought why not, but I didn't have high expectations. I was blown away. This jacket is so light but still very warm. I am pretty active outside and when I go for walks it doesn't have a lot of breathability so I end up taking it off a lot. However, I just got back from a 4 day trip to Houghton, Michigan way up in the UP where it was -13 with the windchill and I was FINE! I walked around town and did not get cold and the only layers I had were a t-shirt and a flannel shirt. The hood is wonderful because you can sinch it so it's tighter on the sides so you can get the perfect protection against the wind and still see well. The Patagonia nano puff was waiting for me when I got home. THe color was almost the same and so was the fit. Don't get me wrong I am sure the Patagonia will last longer over all and it fit wonderful but it was on-sale for $230. I decided to send it back and stay with the Outdoor Ventures jacket and I couldn't be happier with the performance or the price. I will say order a size down because they do run a little big.

This little jacket rivals any light winter jacket I’ve owned. It’s so light, soft, puffy and silky, slides right on and off with no struggling, and is plenty warm enough (over a sweater) for winter outdoor activities. I do wear a knit hat with a bill to keep the hood from falling over my eyes, but I have a short neck, so that said, others may not have that problem.The only thing I’d change is the placket behind the top part of the zipper, as it annoyingly catches every time I zip to the top. Not bad enough to knock off any stars! I might just cut it off.I love love love it! Fine quality.

Fantastic warmth for the price. I wanted this look; the jacket is lightweight yet warm in below freezing temperature. (0-32 degrees)Wind resistant and waterproof - tested in snow and rain. True to size, I bought a medium red.

I only got this jacket for the bus ride home from school because I have to walk quite a bit to get to my house, so far the jacket has kept me very warm and comfortable during the Massachusetts winter (usually around 30 degrees or below). It is very lightweight as well and can be packed in my bag without taking up space or weighing it down. The only thing that might be a little annoying is the static it produces while you wear it/ take it off. But overall a very nice jacket that keeps you surprisingly warm!

I really like this jacket. I like the plum color and that it’s light but holds in warmth. I like the inner zipper breast pocket that’s good for cash or cards even my iPhone 15 Pro fits. The side pockets have a zipper and are deep and hold my phone with no issue. It’s light enough to wear in cooler temps or can be worn over a hoodie and sweater for layers for colder weather. Can also fold up in a bag to make travel easy. Would definitely recommend. I ordered a medium and it fit perfect. I’m 5’3” and around 150lbs.

I was looking for a jacket to take on vacation. I needed something that wouldn't take up a lot of space in the suitcase as well as provided some warmth. It does pack up pretty small. Just as a note it does give you two options to pack, one into the pocket and they do provide a bag. Packing into the pocket does make it some what smaller. It is nice quality and is soft. Hopefully it will provide enough warmth. My main concern was fitting. I am pear shape and do have issues with coats fitting around my hips. A lot of time I have to size up so I can zip it up but then it is too big up top. I ordered both the large and x-large. I couldn't get the large to zip up around the hips. The x-large was perfect. Zipped up with some room to spare but not too oversized up top. Enough room to get a sweater underneath. Just for reference I am 5'5" and weight 170. Hip measurement is 47"

Nice all purpose jacket. Good weight for spring and fall seasons and a nice layer in winter. It’s very packable for travel. I got the eggplant which is a gorgeous deep wine colour. I originally ordered a Large according to the chart based on my measurements and it was way too snug so something to bear in mind. Reordered in an XL and the fit is generous. In-between would be ideal really but I’m happy as I like to be able to layer a sweater underneath. Very easy return procedure

I received this very high quality jacket yesterday and took wore it today to test it out. It was cooler and a light rain was falling here in western Canada and it was exactly what I needed. As others mentioned, it is very light weight and ideal as an in between jacket in spring and fall. I am leaving for a trip to our neighbouring province where the weather promises cooler temperatures, so it will be ideal. The hood is terrific and can be easily secured with a drawstring, the collar is high and ideal for cooler or windy weather, and, I love the deep outer pockets and zipped inner pocket for secure items. I find the material very soft, and the jacket so packable and won’t take up a lot of luggage space. When I walked in the rain today, I found it resisted the water very well, unlike my old puffer jacket. I ordered a Large size despite my 5’4” 128 lbs, but perfect size for layering. The sleeves are about 11/2 inches too long for me which I will have shortened eventually. Of course, that is because of my short arm length and not a negative of a large size jacket. I got this jacket on a limited time price reduction, a bonus. I am so happy with this jacket and it is just the ticket now that fall is approaching. You can’t go wrong purchasing this one.

For the first time, Amazon let me down with its size suggestion after suggesting I order a medium. When it arrived, I was swimming in this thing, it was so baggy. The return was hassle free and I exchanged it for a small. What a difference! The small is fitted and looks great, which was a surprise because normally I prefer medium. I’ve been happy with the jacket so far, seems to do the job of keeping me warm. However, can’t quite give it a 5 because it was somewhat pricey for the quality. Material seems a bit too thin, but will have to see if it stands the test of time.Edit (1 Month Later): I am now giving this jacket a 5 because despite its thin material, it does keep you quite warm. I actually appreciate the material because it doesn’t feel bulky and I can wear layers underneath. Thankful to have bought this jacket, it is what is getting me through the winter!

I really like this coat. It is lightweight and very warm. It's smooth and soft for easy on and off. It doesn't grab your clothing as you get dressed. I am 5'8" and it just sits below the waist. I would if given it 5 stars had it been an inch or so longer. The sleeves are nice and long though, no issue there.

Perfect. This jacket fits my needs. Appears to be well made (short time to own), reasonably priced, nice vibrant color which is true to pics, nicely compactible and light weight to wear while still being seasonably warm. I wore it yesterday in Fall type weather with a long sleeved shirt and it kept me quite comfortable. Not going to be a winter jacket as I bought for travel and convenience of packing. As seen, it came w/a stuff sac, even tho I marked "stuff in pocket", which it WILL ALSO do! The pocket stuffing compared to sac seems smaller. Size wise, I am a bit taller than 5'4 (145lbs), got a medium and fit is great.With all the positive reviews already, I don't think anyone can go wrong with this selection if needing a light, puffy, versatile, nicely priced, multiple choice in colors jacket.
