My brother and I missed a trail on the Capitol Creek circuit not only because of the map, it was mostly because of all of the cattle trails and no signs. But the distance it said to where the trail was was way off from where it was when we eventually found it and what my GPS showed. I like the idea of bringing the map and the fact that it's waterproof but I do have some concerns.

We used this for the 4 pass loop around the Maroon Bells. The GPS coordinates were a nice touch. We liked the size, it fit in my cargo pants pocket and was easy to fold. It handled water from rain without issue. Someone else mentioned this as well, I would have liked the contour lines to be marked in a few more spots. We chose to use this map over the Sky version, but both looked good.

Used this map last summer when a friend had it while we hiked the Four Pass Loop with and it was perfect for backpacking. I liked the smaller size, light weight and trail distances, so I got one for myself for more Maroon Bells Wilderness hiking outings this summer - I always have a waterproof physical map when going into the mountains!

Great quality. National geographic is a little better, but more money. This one is good enough, and detailed.

This map shows a much larger region, but it had plenty of detail for the Maroon Bells Four Loop Pass. Accurate and easy to read contour lines, and good trail information. Folded nicely without tearing. The major countour lines could be marked a bit more frequently on the edges of the map, but they were ok.

I like these maps just slightly better than the similar Trails Illustrated versions, which I own and use many of. Outdoor Trail Maps has done a good job maintaining details from the original USGS sources while adding in details from the Forest Service and more.

Overall, this was a great map. Plenty of detail and solid construction. My only gripe about this map is that there are a couple places, one in particular, that proved to be in accurate and caused confusion at the time. I took a picture of the map and circle the section that seems to be problematic. I knew that there were plenty of maps, most of them older with inaccuracies, but since this was the 2018 edition, I expected it to be more up-to-date.

I took this map with me to Maroon Bells in order to guide us through the loop. This map has everything you could need and more. Since we stayed for a couple nights we needed to locate where each water source was in an attempt to understand how much water we had until we could re-fill. Each of the streams, rivers, and lakes are spot on with the map and allowed us to to hydrate often. I would highly recommend this map to anyone who is interested in hiking the Maroon Bells loop!
