temps got down to the low 20's and they performed as stated. Kept my lines from freezing and water flowing.

This is a good solution for us in the south where we have temperatures dip below freezing occasionally in the winter. The idea is that you install this on outdoor faucets and turn them on. If the temps are above freezing it won’t drip but when the temperature drops below freezing. The inner spring contracts and lets the water drip. It does work as it should, but I found an issue with the type of faucet we have that could be a problem.I previously used insulated covers either the cone type or the newer sock type covers for my faucets. The cone types didn’t hold up for long and I found out the hard way that the sock type doesn’t prevent the faucet from freezing so I was looking for an alternative and found these. The problem I ran into with these is that my faucets have a vacuum breaker and back-flow preventer so it naturally lets water drip after you close the faucet to empty the faucet/pipe. It is a good feature to depressurize the pipe during normal use, but with this valve attached and faucet turned on, the water starts dripping from the vacuum breaker continuously which wastes a lot of water if you keep the water turned on the entire winter. So I only turn it on when the temps are predicted to be below freezing. As it turns out this is not a set it and forget it solution as I expected or was used to with the other cover type solutions. This can be challenging if we are out of town when the temps dip or if I accidentally forget to turn off the water when the temps drop. Not really an issue with the valve, but something others might find helpful.

This is a very nice product. I installed as directed and when the temp went below freezing a small constant drip ensued. It was great seeing it in action. Easily would buy again.

I bought 4 of these and just got them out of the package yesterday as they were put up in a drawer I forgot about for a few months after I purchased. Put this on the faucet outside as per directions and woke up this morning to a frozen faucet....it was 10 degrees here last night and the device never dripped the first drop like it was supposed to as I had a bucket placed under to catch any water. I have an actual branded freeze miser and I've had no issues with it all winter hooked to the hose. I guess perhaps what I get for getting the off brand. Now I have another 3 of these I bought I guess I'll pitch with money wasted.

Our 2 outdoor faucets have frozen a couple of times in the last few years even with the standard precautions. Bring desperate, I searched for a better solution. Well, this is it! For the past week or so, we have been below freezing day and night with several nights going down in the teens. We checked the faucets in the morning and evening and every time they were dripping like they were supposed to. No freezing faucets. I highly recommend this product if you have problems with your outdoor faucets freezing. They are easy to install.

So with this whole gloom and doom “polar vortex” coming we wanted to try these out. I’m glad that we did. When it freezes, they open up, when it reaches above freezing they stop dripping. So cool. Like I said, they work! Very easy to install. Just remember when you put them on, to turn the water on. If it leaks, turn the water off tighten up and try again.Great product! Thank you

The day I got it I put it on my fitting and it flowed water but I woke up in the morning after the night was 24° to my water line frozen. It froze from the fitting to the ground. It honestly did not work. My freeze miser last year worked very well last year but wore out the thermal wax.In summary I ordered the polar valve because it was cheaper than the freeze miser and freeze miser didn't freeze last winter, polar valve froze first night at 24°.
