These are awesome! For anyone who does their own brakes or mechanical work these are a must in your tool box. They are tough and made well. The only reason I gave 4 Stars is because of my own lack of attention (and aging eyesight) when picking up and accounting for tools after a repair. I had left one of the hangers on a coil spring and lost it somewhere during the test drive.Black hanger against black struts and springs in a dark wheel-well blend in too well. My new set, and the remaining one, I'm painting Fluorescent Orange so I notice them next time!!

work well.. nice to have hanging in the garage for any time you want to take off your calipers.. make it quick to hang instead of messing around with zap straps.. zap straps get expensive..

You're probably saying to yourself "I can just whip up a couple of those out of mechanics wire and do that myself". Well, you can, but that wire will disappear a day after using it, and you'll be making up a new one for every brake job. I put these back where they belong after every use and they're always there when I need them, and they're used on EVERY SINGLE brake job I do. Heavy trucks with huge calipers don't even begin to bend these, yet they're thin enough to fit through the bolt holes of the smallest Japanese import coupe. You will use these, and you'll be glad you bought them. I'm only a two bay shop, but I have two pair of these, and will immediately replace if I ever lose one.

All you need to ask yourself is if you want to buy 2 fast food meals, or if you want these. If you don't do brakes, or you're the guy at Quickie Lubrication that takes caliper bolts off then lets the caliper hang by the hose.... you don't understand how crucial these are.Sure, you can make them. Go ahead. You can make many different things if you try.Oh, do yourself a favor and toss some BRIGHT ORANGE spray paint on them. Or you might leave them on a strut spring. Ask me how I know.

First thing you want to do is spray paint these wires a color that is bright and colorful. So many times I hear, And I quote," can I borrow your caliper hanger hooks." If you are forgetful or just get sidetracked it is easy to put these to the side and then forget they are hanging off a dirty car strut housing or some other part of the car and wham they are gone in a flash!. These are extremely well made and the most helpful 12.50 tool you will ever find. Well, maybe not the most, but they come in handy doing a lot of work under the car including brake work. I used fluorescent orange. No lost hooks!

I do a lot of brake jobs and these are a must have. It's nice to have tools and equipment that will save you time and prevent damage to parts that are being worked on. A lot of times I have used wire hangers or thin wire to tie up calipers to get them out of the way. Sometimes I have been lazy and tried to hang them on the coil spring or set them on the control arm and they almost always fall. I have been lucky that none of the brake lines have ripped out from this but I no longer have to worry about any of that now. These keep the calipers from falling and out of my work area. It also takes less time to hook them up instead of continually wrapping thin wire or fighting a wire hanger that will usually have to be thrown out and replaced. I would highly recommend these for doing brake jobs. I am considering painting them a more visible color though. Once I left one on a lady's coil spring, and found it on her car the next day. This tells me that these are not only hooks that can secure well but are also durable . This product shipped on time and in good condition.

Excellent tool when doing brake jobs. It makes life easier since caliper is always in the way. I know many folks would suggest the tool can be home-made, however the quality of the material is sturdy and quite solid and the cost is not ridiculously expensive. If you use a bungee cord it is always dangling and swinging whereas this tool puts the caliper in a 'fixed' position.I strongly recommend this tool for do-it-yourselfers.
