Yes, you can buy a cheaper tool. Then half way through your project, it fails on you. I have use OTC tools for over 45 years and they continue to impress. Hardened tooling that is made to last. There are times a cheaper tool can get your job done. But you can't afford to be mid project, vehicle torn down and your tools fighting you to get done. Buy the best you can, and OTC if that's it. You'll be glad you did.

I was recommended to try this product to fix my Oldsmobile alero 2002 steering wheel but unfortunately it was way too small for the job and wasn’t able to use it to fix my car…

This company is PHENOMENAL. I had an issue with the flywheel that I purchased and upon installation, realized that I had mistakenly bought the wrong flywheel. I was VERY upset, as I was to go trail riding with friends as soon as I fixed my quad, and wrote RMStator an email that was less than friendly. Like professionals, they reached out to me and kindly pointed out that I was indeed wrong, and that they would be happy to assist in an exchange or refund. While the part I need is not currently in stock, a refund in full was issued to my bank less than a week later. TOP NOTCH CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Firstly, I purchased this OTC puller over some of the less expensive pullers because I wanted a tool made in the USA. I'm not a professional mechanic but I do nearly all my own work on my classic muscle car and building a collection of tools is important to me. Buying what I can that's manufactured in the USA is also very important to me, and I'll pay extra if it's within reason. The package says that it's "Assembled in the USA from globally-sourced components", though. Unlike the product photos mine is not stamped or etched "USA" anywhere.A lot of the steering wheel pullers have only two "arms", and my Grant steering wheel uses 3 bolts in a triangle to secure the wheel to the adapter. Nearly all the pullers that have 3 arms are also marketed as flywheel pullers and have much larger bolts as a result. This kit did NOT include bolts small enough to pull my Grant steering wheel adapter, so I sourced some myself. Having said that, once I got them, it worked effortlessly. It's a high-quality piece and the included bolts will probably fit most flywheels or harmonic balancers, maybe even some OE steering wheels. The driving bolt is large, looks as though it's hardened and includes both a pointed tip and a cover to create a blunted tip with a bit of swivel. The only reason it's a 4-star and not a 5-star review is the lack of small enough bolts for my application. I understand they can't include EVERYTHING, but Grant wheels are very popular and it seems an odd omission for something that's marketed as pulling steering wheels.

This was twice the price it should have been. I regret wasting the money.

Bought this awhile back to replace a broken unit, and finally needed to use it this past weekend. Works very nice and happy with the bolts it included as it had the size I needed.

I am not sure the difference between made in the USA/assembled in the USA (some versions exist, such as made in the USA with foreign/global component). I wish industries stop playing game. This set works perfect on 2004 Honda (Acura) TL. The factory service manual calls for "commercially available steering puller" and this set is just perfect.P.S, I once removed the steering wheel without this tool, and the next thing I knew, the cable reel came undone. Putting it back was a nightmare (impossible if you're not mechanically inclined). NEVER try to undo the steering wheel without using a puller.
