Just got to use this tool for the first time today and it worked almost perfectly. I did add some oil to the bearing and threads, want it to last. The problem is, I wish someone would make a tool that would safely clamp onto said pulley and prevent it from turning, without me using my hands. I need both of them for the installing tool. If the pulley spins while you're turning the large nut then the tool is backing out of the shaft. I run into that problem no matter which brand installer tool I Buy. For now it's a ratchet strap and a long pry bar.

The OTC 7005 pulley installer is well built. I had no problems using it. It is important to completely clean thethreads and grease or oil them. It has manufacturing metal chips left on it. It will work smoother and lastlonger doing this. Also lube the bearing.

This power steering pump pulley replacement was perfect. Managed to repair our vehicle quickly and more economically. The pulley arrived exactly on time.

Made in Taiwan, not in USA as picture shows, but seems to be of good quality nonetheless. Oiled threads and driver before I used it and pressing the pulley onto the new power steering pump for my 1997 Grand Cherokee was a breeze. The replacement pump came with a bolt, nut, and washer to do the job but I had already ordered this installer and was very happy with the way it performed. The driver of this installer has a chamfer that will allow you to push the pulley on the shaft further than flush with the end of the shaft. Make sure you look at the position of the pulley on the shaft before you pull the pulley off the old pump and check the position of the pulley on the new shaft when you are done.

As another reviewer noted, it would be more accurately called a pulley installer, not replacer. You need the removal tool if you intend to use the same pulley on your new pump (or, if for some reason you're replacing your pulley on your existing pump, same thing). This will NOT remove the pulley, it will only install it. And for that, it works just as advertised, with easy to follow instructions on the back of the package.

I am a mechanic, and have used this puller on gm pwr steering pumps. its about half the price of snap on, and works just fine, no way around using a puller on the gm pumps (yet another great gm design- but dont get me started on that) I tested a clamshell type and was paranoid it would break, this seems to be near snap on quality I would reccomend this product
