I’ve installed these cv boot clamps many times with a pair of pliers. Now that I’ve bought this tool, it is so much easier! I should’ve bought it many years ago. It works great!!

I had to repair a driveshaft with a CV joint. This tool did the job for me. OTC might be more money, however, I like tools that preform well.

Worked great for clamping down a CV axle boot. Did the job with no issues. Came in blue color and no specific brand name on it. Very suspicious btw. Overall satisfied with the purchase.

Works very well for the DIY home mechanic. If these were used daily by a professional, there might be some issue with the less sturdy frame as compared to something in the $200 range. However, I'm sure I'll get many years of great service from these pliers. Good value for the money.

I broke the ear off of a cheaper CV boot clamp pliers recently while attempting to do some pex plumbing. Pex crimp clamps are considerably harder than CV boot retaining clamps! This time I decided to spring for a higher quality tool, and having used these already, I can say for certain that they fit the bill perfectly. They are well constructed, feel solid in the hand, and complete a good crimp on the band clamp. I am satisfied with them and would purchase them again.

This tool was perfect for my 2003 Saab 9-5. I was recently overhauling the front end with all new brakes, wheel bearings, tie rod ends, struts, etc. With the wheel hub/bearing removed I thought I might as well clean/repack the outer CV joints and replace the boots. I know most people just buy a remanufactured axle half shaft to save time, but I've always been curious to see if I could overhaul a CV joint myself. After watching a couple of YouTube videos, I disassembled the outer CV joint on the passenger side, then cleaned it up, re-greased it, and put on a new CV boot with clamps using this OTC plier. It took me about 90 minutes, but then I did the other side in about 45 minutes. So now I have "CV joint savvy," and am no longer intimidated by these things! I figure the inner boot is much less likely to fail because it doesn't articulate nearly as much as the outer one, but I can always go back and overhaul that one too if I have to.I'm including a couple of pics showing the guts of the outer CV joint after cleaning away all the grease, and then after I repacked it with synthetic CV grease. To the seller of this product: the description is all screwy, referring to some kind of wheel hub remover for trucks. This is a CV boot clamp plier.

I Love this product this is a really good stuff. I had purchased a cheap CV Boot Clamp Plier along with this one.The cheap one broke after about 6 uses but this one is excellent and will allow you to properly use torque wrenches with it, if you desire.
