OsoCozy Unbleached Birdseye Flat Cloth Diapers (1 dozen)

Our softest 100% cotton flat diapers are unbleached, birdseye weave. Tried and true for over a decade, these are a favorite among our customers.

  • One layer thick
  • Measure 27 inches by 30.5 inches - sized to shrink square for easy folding
  • Weigh just over 3 ounces each - which is heavier and more absorbent, than discount brands in chain stores
  • Unbleached for extra softness

Flats are the original cloth diaper still used around the world. Birdseye flats are durable one-size diapers, making them the most economical cloth diapering choice. These diapers do require folding with use of a diaper fastener and diaper cover.

Flat diapers can be used alone for cloth diapering, as absorbent inserts for pocket diapers and AIO cloth diapers.

Such a soft, cotton cloth has a lot more uses: dish towels, burp cloths, lap pads, changing pads, bibs, wash cloths, baby wipes, or gentle, lint-free wipes for your car.

I had been looking for a year or two for soft cotton cloths to use on some of my pieces of furniture that have delicate finishes--in particularly a baby grand piano and some dining room pieces. I had a bunch of soft baby diapers that I used for dusing, and these disappeared after a cleaning service cleaned my house. Cloth diapers are a thing of the past, but I found a package of them on Amazon.com, and am very happy using them as dust cloths.

I have bought these flats before when I had my daughter 8 years ago and repurchasing them again with my son. They are easy to clean (we have a diaper sprayer) and dry. Once they are prep they are quite absorbed. I double them up for my almost 2 years old son because he is a heavy wetter and they hold quite a lot. I use them in a diaper cover folded to fit or stuff in a pockets diaper (for night time). They are very economical and I love not having to throw away disposable diapers and adding to the landfill. I even have my daughter old flats and use them to clean up mess around the house. They are a great investment even if you are not cloth diapering.

These are great, absorbent, soft, durable. Handwash and machine wash very well. Hang dry and machine dry fast. Most affordable cloth diapering option. Gentle on babys skin, never had a rash. Eco friendly. So functional, fold in many different ways to suit your needs and babys growth, and double up for heavy wetting times. They wash so well, the thiness of the cotton makes it easy to clean out poo and pee. So glad i went with flats!

I actually haven't used these for my baby yet, since she's still on the way, so I will update later. But just by looking at and feeling these after washing them, I can tell they are finer quality. They didn't lose tons of lint in the dryer like others I have. I had purchased the Gerber birdseye flats, which are definitely not top quality and WAY smaller, like 23 x 23 - fine for newborns I guess - but these are so much more absorbent feeling, bigger and softer/smoother. I am really excited to use these with the PUL covers I purchased. I was considering purchasing flats from Green Mountain Diapers, and I probably will buy some in the future to compare, but for the price and with Prime shipping, these are a really good deal. You can't beat natural fibers for baby's bottom. And the flats are so simple yet customizable, and wash and dry so easily.

I have a number of brands and sizes of flat diapers (including the more expensive Green Mountain Diapers, Swaddlebees, and Diaper Junction brands). I find myself reaching for the Osocozy flats most of the time -- my son has been wearing them every day since we got them. They're perfect for padfolding and laying in a PUL cover for very easy cloth diapering with no bulk under clothing. I plan to also use them padfolded as inserts in my pocket diapers. They are soft, surprisingly absorbent (my son uses them during naps without doublers), wash easily with no issues (no need for specialty detergents), dry very quickly (I line dry them indoors, and they are usually dry in a few hours), and take up little space to store at home or in the diaper bag. We took them with us on vacation and used them the entire trip. These Osocozy's are the cheapest flats available -- they paid for themselves in less than 2 weeks. They're also great as makeshift receiving blankets, burp cloths, and changing pads, and for cleaning the floor when potty training. And when our diapering days are over, they'll be used for kitchen clean up rags (they work better than flour sack towels). The only con is that they are rectangular shape, which is an issue for those who want perfect square for easier folding and pinning. I actually like the shape for the way I padfold, so no problem for me. I'm very happy with this purchase!

When I first started cloth diapering, I bought a cheap pocket diaper/insert bundle off eBay. They turned out to be terrible. They leaked overnight, couldn't be washed in water over 86 degrees, and required almost a dozen wash cycles per load to get all of the detergent rinsed out, and even then came out of the dryer with a barnyard smell. Needless to say, I was a little disenchanted with my cloth diapering experience. I decided to purchase some flat diapers and covers to help lighten my wash load. I can't say enough nice things about these diapers!First, I was concerned about absorbency. I thought, 'how can this thin piece of fabric be as absorbent as my thick inserts?' Turns out, I had no reason at all to worry. These are just as absorbent, if not more absorbent than my inserts. I was able to cloth diaper my one-year-old overnight for the first time since I began cloth diapering. I had NO leaks, the diaper itself wasn't even soaked all the way through. The non-leakage could be in part to my diaper covers, but the fact that the diaper doesn't get completely soaked through like my inserts (even *doubled* inserts) tells me they have way better absorbency than what I was used to.Secondly, I was concerned these might be a pain to put on my kid. I watched a lot of Youtube videos to help me figure out how to fold them. It took a couple days, but I eventually got it down and putting them on isn't much of a problem. It's a little more of a hassle than my pocket diapers or disposables, but no big deal once you get used to it (although I'm sure it'll take a while for my husband to stop grumbling about it).Third, I loved how easy these are to wash! So much less complicated than my awful pockets/inserts. I wash them in HOT water and they get clean in one or two wash cycles! I'm in love. Seriously. They washed up really nicely and are super soft and comfy. The only problem I've seen is a little rash on my little guy's behind. Since the wet fabric is right against his skin with no barrier, he tends to break out when he wets the diaper. This has been remedied by more frequent diaper changes, and folding the diaper into a rectangle to lie in the bottom of the cover like an insert and give his skin a little breathing room. It's much easier to put the diaper on him like that anyway.Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase.
