The slide itself is very usable. The link joint at the wrench takes up too much energy away from what you’re trying to extract. This is great for light duty. if you’re trying to pull stubborn doll pins, modifications are needed the vice grip that was provided is scrap metal.

I first used this on an irregularly shaped piece of metal: it held well and I was able to pull it the way I wanted, effecting a change in the metal as I wanted. I then tried it on a spiral nail embedded in a joist where the nail was coated in a glue as well: It pulled the nail out after a number of pulls. The tool showed no wear at all. For both pieces, it was easy to adjust the bolt so it would clamp tightly. The slide moves with ease and lands solidly on the nut at the rear. I was a little concerned about the nut, but it held up perfectly well after I did use home heavy blows. I was impressed that it held up so well and grabbed very well too. Lastly, I am happy that it is easy to disassemble and pack in my tool cabinet: It stores quite easily!I think the price of sixty dollars is okay, being at the higher end of the cost spectrum. Some are priced higher, but I am certain the quality of this is a little better than most. Because of the quality, that is why I think it is okay.

This thing is great. Essentially just a slide tool and a pair of vice grip pliers but it’s all you need. I have a few axle adapters that connect to a slide tool. This will work for most of those jobs but the benefit is you can use it on any part/hardware that you need to. So long as it’s narrow enough to fit in the vise grip. Has come in handy twice so far where if I didn’t have it I would have to get seriously creative to solve it. Well worth it’s asking price.

Item arrived in plain packaging and the interior is a foam cut out holder for the tool and pieces. The pliers provide decent grip and I would call them id-grade quality. They are above HF but not to the level of the original/genuine ViseGrip brand.Makes for a handy alternative when you can't thread on a connection when you want a slide hammer. Good for those odd jobs and weird circumstances you come across in the rust belt. Can't say there is one specific job for them but when you need one, you need one.The cut out foam was a little weird. i would have preferred a blow mold case.Overall, a win for the toolbox. Works like it should, mid-grade quality and is exactly what you need, when you need it.

When this came out it was very expensive. Now they are more affordable and it's the same exact design from the beginning of the invention of this tool. This is perfect for pulling pins of my mower deck. Being that they are constantly getting wet when you cut your grass and when you need to change your belt they are almost impossible to get out. With this it had taken probably 30 seconds to have one complete fight already done.

As with some other reviews, my retaining pin spring loaded ball came out during use. Amazingly I found the ball and spring. I am debating on either drilling the spring hole all the way through and using a spring clip to retain it, or reinstalling the ball and spring and trying to stake the ball in a little better. Other than that it's a nice tool, and comes with a little kaizen foam holder for your toolbox.

Device looks great, but the vice grip skips the threads when tightened resulting in the device not holding a grip.
