Has lots of room and precut foam, is great for our loose optics.Very thin shell. I was thinking for the cost this would be similar to a **popular branded field** case. Its is not. I will likely buy a more sturdy case with similar dimensions and move the pre-cut foam over to that one. Came with one of the aluminum trim pieces along the edge damaged. Box wasn't damaged and didn't appear to be handled roughly. Would not buy again.

Excellent for easy packing and carrying of all the accessories. After purchasing my telescope, for a while my girlfriend and I looked like gypsies heading to locations for stargazing, with a bunch of bags and little boxes, and then spreading everything around for access. With this case, I fit all the contents of the Celestron eye piece kit, including all the (mostly useless) filters, plus a couple of additional filters, the finder scope (that was a nice surprise), the T-ring and adaptor for the camera, and I decided to also put in the hand controller, which fits neatly in the largest compartment, and the power cord that works with the power tank. So really everything I need! If I wanted I could probably also put the prism in, instead of things like a rocket blower and a red flashlight (yeah, those fit in neatly too). Now I just carry this, and the scope and tripod in its own bag, plus a power tank. It's nice and solid, as stylish as one of these things can be, and works really well. Couldn't be happier.

La custodia/valigetta in alluminio con bordi rinforzati è molto robusta e permette di trasportare oculari da 31,8mm, oculari da 50,8mm e molti accessori come filtri e adattatori. L'imbottitura di spugna espansa permette di proteggere gli oculari e gli accessori da urti indesiderati. Può essere portata sia con la maniglietta che a tracolla. Sono molto soddisfatto dell'acquisto, è proprio l'articolo che cercavo per trasportare in sicurezza tutti i miei accessori.

On the downside:What ever happened to Orion's high quality? I bought the medium size to this 9 and half years ago and it is so sturdy. I've used the medium case outside many times. I've dropped it, bounced it around, overloaded it with accessories and it is still very much intact and operable and still looks good with no real blemishes. I, for some reason, don't think I'm going to get the same longevity out of this large case. The sponge is not even as firm as the one in the medium case. I see where the metal edging is going to eventually get loose. If it wasn't for the quality, I would give it five stars because...One the upside:It has good cut-outs. I now can fit my Orion red goggles in the large rectangular compartment (see picture). I can also fit my COL (computerized object locator) for my intelliscope, 4" HUSKY level, green laser pointer, lens cleaning accessories, 4 trays of filters, red beam flash light, all my 1.25" and 2" lenses, cell phone adapter, laser collimator and collimation cap, 2X- 1.25" Barlow and 2" TV Powermate, 12.5mm illuminated reticle plosssl, small screw driver and hex keys (that came with the scope) all fit snug in my case. I also lay my planisphere on top of everything when I'm closing the case. However the Tele Vue 35mm 2" lens does not fit perfectly as the hand-gripping area of the lens does not go down into the foam, but that's ok, it still fits just not all the way down.Hands down! I love this case! Everything I need is at my finger tips!I recommend this item, but just know that you'll have to take care of it as it's not very rugged. I preferred this case over the "pluck foam" case because the cut-outs were perfect for my accessories.If you really love astronomy and plan to continue the hobby, most likely you're going to join a club/forum and learn about other interesting accessories, so you're better off opting for the larger case and filling it with goodies!!! Hehehe!

Sicherlich ein sehr schöner Koffer, in dem alles Platz findet. Allerdings musste ich doch etwas mit einem Messer nachhelfen, da selbstr die größten Löcher für meine Okulare nicht reichten. Die Wände könnten etwas stabiler sein, dort wurde echt zu wenig drauf geachtet. Aber ansonsten ein sehr schöner Koffer in dem ich gerne und mit einem guten Gefühl der Sicherheit mein Equipment transportiere.

Perfect.Everything is as advertised.The case protects my equipment well, and came with inserts for the unoccupied areas in the case.It has been dropped a few times since I got it nearly a year ago.There is plenty of space, I can fit pretty much all of my accessories, lenses, collimators, etc. into it safe and secure.Nothing was damaged in the case, or on its exterior.Totally Satisfied

Lots of space, much more than I anticipated. Overall the case seems very sturdy, even though it's very light.Plenty of depth, enough so that after removing the foam plugs for my shorter eyepieces I needed to cut the plugs and insert part of each back into their hole or otherwise the eyepieces would disappear into the opening.2" holes turned out to be nice for my thicker eyepieces such as the zoom and the Barlow/T-adapter.Several large rectangular "trays" of varying sizes, just 1 holds my numerous (6) filtersPlenty of padding on the lid. Foam is easily cut/trimmed as needed by any decent kitchen knife.This will probably serve all my lens and accessories needs far into the future. Until that time, It also holds my hand controller and bracket, red LED flashlight, green laser pointer and some spare batts, still lots of space.I initially gave this 4 stars, not needing either the locks or carry strap. However, in homes with kids this might be essential, as might the strap for some, and the metal lid hasps (fasteners) are far superior to the common plastic squeeze until it snaps variety.So 5 stars.

This case is a good choice for storing your telescope accessories.It has very good padding inside, and all storage spots are pre-cut, so just pull out what you need to in order to fit your eyepieces.I have a large assortment of eyepieces, diagonals, filters, and spotting scope & bracket.They all fit nicely inside, and are well protected.This is a hard case, but not the hardest. It is framed in aluminum, but the top, bottom sides, are a type of hard plastic, and it does give a bit. So this is Not a crush proof case, but still a good one!I was considering this (Large) case, and the Orion medium case.I wasn't sure which one would serve my needs best.But now I am very glad I choose the large one, as the medium wouldn't have held all of my accessories.The price is a little high, but I couldn't find one that I liked better.I would recommend this case, to anyone considering it!
