This kit is very nice with one small exception. There are 3 planters. There are plenty of seeds to grow. It is a fast germinating seed of wheat grass. They include chalk to either write a pet's name or; in my case, the date of planting. I intend to keep these three in rotation as cat grass will only last 2 or 3 weeks. It only has 2 soil pucks. In reality it should have 3 for proper rotation and use in 3 planters in rotation. Planted 3 days ago and sprouts are emerging on planter #1.

We used this last year and liked the idea better than the results. It's a cute gimmicky grass growing kit. There are better. You can buy seed by the bagful with a small dirt and a decent weighted pot. The growing disks are unnecessary, the seed is hearty.

At first I was so impressed with how fast the grass grew and how much my cats loved the grass. I did notice soon as they started munching on the grass within 2/3 days the grass was turning brown and started to die quickly. I made sure not to water it much as it stated because the dirt holds in the water. In about 2 weeks the 3 grass plans were dead and I noticed mold in the grass and even in the dirt boxes. I thought maybe I did not water them enough, saw I ordered more seeds/dirt and cleaned out the wooden boxes and planted more. Grass grows fast cats love it, but within a few days grass is dry and brown, I sprayed with water not too much but again they were dead. Not sure what is in these plants but you will see white mold in the grass and it seeps into the wooden box and that gets green mold. Very disappointing because my cats were really like them and thought it would help their digestive system being its supposed to be good for them.

The money pretty much IMO is for the cute containers. Comes with dried compressed soil medium and a pack of ?wheat that was left over even after I seeded 3 of these and an additional mug with soil. started to grow to a decent length in a week. The cats like it - is a good alternative when it’s too wet/cold/stormy to go outdoors. 4 weeks and 2 cats later, still have 2 decent containers of grass to chomp on.

It worked easily. I received the 3 little boxes (which is part of why I wanted this particular grass growing kit). I experimented by using 2 of them at the same time - the first few days I wondered, but then suddenly some little blades started to show, and then the grass quickly started growing within the next few days. I saved one box to grow when my cat is chewing on the others. I saved one dirt disk for the last box (which is more than plenty with some left over) and some seeds to use. When I get replacement supplies, I will only use one box at a time, and once it is being used, will time it out to start another to be ready when that one starts to look like it is needing a fresher replacement. It was easy, I chose enough seeds to make it a nice clump of grass, and it is so much fresher than the $3.99 I spend each week on the little container of grass from the grocery store (those are not that fresh many times). Glad I decided to make it for my little one myself.

Simple to plant and grow. It only took about a week for it to grow high enough for the cats to eat. They started eating it right away and keep going back for more. Between 4 cats it might be all gone by morning. There are enough seeds to plant more than just the 3 planters. The picture is what was left after I covering the soil of the 3 included planters. They are good quality. I didn't take a picture before I gave them to the cats. The first 2 have been eaten a lot and the last one only a little bit.

The 3 little planters are very cool, live the mini-chalkboard on the side to write a message or the cat’s name. At first I thought I was shorted on the soil as there were only 2 soil pucks but 3 planters. There were no instructions, so I contacted their customer service via email. They said that as per the instructions (but where were they?) I should break each puck in half.Once I did that and followed the instructions on their website (for a similar set, but not the same) the grass grew quickly and came up very lush. My cat went nuts over it!The planters themselves are very well made and look great. I’ve edited this review and upgraded the rating from 1-star to 5 after their customer service contacted me and set me straight.
