As others have noted, these musical instruments are not properly tuned and so cannot really be used to make actual music. But they are fine for young toddlers to create different sounds.I know the product page says that the colors we receive for the two instruments are random, but we received to instruments that had the same coloring. It would have been good if the two instruments had different coloring, so that we can designate each one for different people - so we don't have to share spit with friends!

One of the recorders just doesn't work (blow into it and it produces no notes). The other recorder doesn't play the correct notes.

The intonation isn't perfect, but these little recorders are painted beautifully and are adorable. I'm a musician and I bought these to use as a decorative item more than their playability.

These are adorable, but smaller than a regular recorder. The sound is not the same as a real instrument, but they are fun to play with for the little ones. My granddaughter is 4 and loves the pink one!
