I have used this bar and chain for nearly a year and it has worked very well! It fit perfect and has held a sharp chain and the bar is sturdy and well built. I use this particular saw with this bar and chain often. It hasnt let me down yet. I have cleared 3 large fallen oaks and several pines and bar and chain is still running strong! I have had to sharpen a few times but nothing unusual. I will buy this product again the next time I need it. The good thing it's held up so well I havnt need to purchase again. Very satisfied!

Tried the easy cut chain and it worked well, but the speed cut puts it to shame. Cuts quick, easy, and stays sharp longer even in fresh cut live oak and elm. Will continue to use speed cut from now on

Cost of this Bar & chain is higher than other bar & chain sets I have purchased. Remington prices their products higher than Sears; Polan; Mcoulah; & Ryobi. All of which use the same mounting configuration. My Remington 20in bar was cutting off center. I hit a nail imbedded in the tree broke several teeth dulled most. I ordered this set & the 20in set to get the unit running again.

I don't know, maybe this bar was designed for people who use their saw once in a while, but we cut & sell firewood. The first thing I noticed, was that there was no grease hole on the roller tip. Man, I never would have purchased this bar & chain combo if I would have known. It sure was NOT mentioned in the ad. I should have sent it back right then. The second problem is, the oil ports that oil the bar are about 1/4 the size of the Husky bar this replaced. One would think if there's no way to grease the roller tip, the oil ports would be huge to make up for the lack of lubrication, but they are tiny. The bar was always starved for oil & ran hot, the tiny ports plugged constantly, & the ungreasable tip would seize up. I was constantly taking everything apart and cleaning the oil ports & trying to get the seized tip to rotate. This last time, I never could get that tip to move again. Luckily I save my old Husky bar. I dressed it up with a file, cleaned it, & put the chain that came with this Oregon bar on it. It works great until I can get a new Husky bar, but that's a 70 mile round trip. This whole deal has been a very costly lesson for a retired man, living on Social Security. I hope this review helps others. My saw is a Husky 250 w/18" bar. The sad thing is I bought the Oregon bar & chain combo for my wife's saw also. It is still in the package hanging on the shop wall. I have had it for some months & probably can not return it. I'm done now.

Received this 18" combo yesterday and fitted it today onto my saw which had a 20" bar. It's a cheap Chinese made saw. The original chain used to stretch after a couple of cuts needing tensioning. With the bar and chain combo from Oregon I was able to spend most of the morning in the back yard before any tensioning was needed and the chain stayed sharp. Far better cutting ability than the original bar and chain. Although the original was a 20" there's only a two link difference and minimal shortening in usable bar length.
