Before use it is suggested to wash the log gently in warm water to remove any residue from packaging.

This is quite lovely. We've had our bearded dragon for a month. He/she is 6 months old and going through a shed. (This is our first dragon, so we're new to this shedding business.) I read that beardies are itchy during shedding and sometimes use a log or rock, etc. for scratching and getting shed off. I saw this piece and thought it would make a good scratcher, as well as a hide or a basking spot. It really is attractive and well-made. It's a little pricey, but now seeing it in person, I realize it's a quality and useful piece for the enclosure, and worth the price. When our little one is an adult, he won't fit into the hide part, but can still bask and look out at his kingdom from a different area of his home. I am happy that I bought it and think it is a perfect log for his habitat.

I went to many pet stores to find a hide for my Pleco. They were ugly, small, and way overpriced! I found this company and took a chance and was not disappointed! It come in very good packaging with a sweet thank you note from the small business it came from. Shaq as you see loves his new cave. Well worth it if you’re looking for a good quality tank hide.

Nothing could break it the way it was packaged.I think it’s beautiful and accurate description.My bearded dragon has zero interest in this thing though, not sure why? Maybe not big enough for her? But if she hates it I’ll give to my snake who will love it

Great size. Its always hard to really get a visual of the size of a lot of different available snake hides, but our 1year 3month old python loves it. When we relocated the hides it was the first thing she went to.

We just received our log with hide yesterday. Our baby Beardie, Blaze is already loving it! It offers a place for him to hang out, plus a quick escape under the log if he wants to hide. This is such a great addition to his enclosure, super sturdy, seems very easy to wipe down any messes, and does not have any odor. Very pleased with this product.
