I am using it for shallow, open-water, technical dives and night OWD dives. The only negative I can think of is that the beam is a little wide, and the switch is not mechanical, adding a potential point of failure. I love the option to change the cable connector to sidemount or double configurations on the spot, and the battery time. Overall, it is the best value on the market; however, its durability is unproven in my opinion, so I would not use it as a primary light in an overhead environment yet.

I was looking for a dive light with a longer burn time. As a TEC diver a smaller cell battery wouldn’t last the dive.I looked at several and decided on the Orcatorch D630 v2. I was impressed with the sturdiness of it and the design. It attaches to the tank strap or BCD strap with option of a straight out or 90 degree angle cable exiting the canister. It feels solid and well built. I have taken it out and dove it at a max depth around 53 feet for about 70 minutes. The light and button worked well, layered Velcro strap stayed attached to the tank strap no problem, felt secure before, during and after the dive, including while using the DPV. The light works well and has a channel on it to attach a line with a bolt snap to clip to your bcd while entering/exiting the water. While traveling with the unit the batter will have to stay in your carry on, no issues, the torch portion can stay in the case or fit into other gear in the bag. Cover the cap with something to keep debris out of it. Overall very happy with the light so far. Looking at trying out the one with the laser pointer as a back up light.

Thank you Orcatorch for making an affordable "Real" Canister Light that is affordable for everyone. It comes with a suitable case that will allow you to travel and store it. The ability to use it on your Sidemount harness as well as you back mount harness. This also has the ability to see the charging level on the light head as well as the charge level while charging. My wife purchased this for my birthday and I'm glad she didn't spend more than she had to for a perfectly suitable dive torch.

Simply the Best Buy for canister light available today, especially if bought during any of the sales over the year like Black Friday, etc. I had been looking at various other more expensive canister lights. However, they were not in my budget range by any stretch of the imagination. I finally pulled the trigger and purchased the OracTorch D630 V2, which has not disappointed me. It is simple to use and operate with my SCUBA setup. And it has some very impressive specs, in my opinion. Such is the 4,000 Lumen output, which is plenty for recreational-tech diving. The light has an excellent beam angle of 7°, which makes it ideal to put a spot on details and communicate with your dive team. The canister is designed to work with both side-mount and backmount divers, with cable attachment being adjustable in two positions at 90° or 180°. The cable connecting the canister with the light head is 1.5 meters. The battery runtime is listed at 5 hours in the brightest setting. However, always remember that the runtime relates to the water temperature. In cold water, don't expect 5 hours of runtime. Switching between the light settings is simple with the push switch.Overall, I am pleased with my OrcaTorch D630 V2.A few points for improvements: Include a bolt snap and a thumb-loop to the Goodman handle.

I bought this flashlight through a friend's recommendation. It is very necessary as a primary light for technical divers. I personally tested this flashlight and it can be really used at 100 meters (300ft) underwater. The battery is very useful and the battery life is great. I will use this flashlight for some deep diving in the future.

I've only used this light for 10-15 dives, but it's proven to be plenty bright for almost all uses, and the battery life has been very impressive. The beam is plenty narrow enough to use as an underwater signaling device, and the canister runs low enough to use to stow my long hose. I am not a huge fan of using velcro to connect this to my waistband webbing, but it seems stable enough so far.The huge issue I have with this light though is the lock button has not been effective. Out of four of my flights, the lights managed to unlock itself and turn itself on/run itself out of power on two of them (I made absolutely sure the light was locked before both the flights). Fortunately, these lights do not run very hot, and I do not see them becoming a real fire risk, but it can be a serious issue.I normally would have deduct a star on this, but the support team is extremely responsive here, and I'm confident that if the light becomes defective, I would be able to have the problem resolved in a short period of time.
