Shaking them is not what real drums are for – tambourines and othershakeable instruments like maracas and shakers are meant to shake.Drums have a purpose, from signaling to rhythm.Toddlers and Babies could probably be grouped together when usingtactics to make the “drum” meaningful. Again, shaking is not the sound waves make,A gentle rolling is. So if the kids are shown that sound and then told of the ocean’sown never-ending dance of water, even if they know that mighty body, the gentlemovement of the beads around and across the circular “drums” could suggestthe ocean and make a memorable connection, even for the very young.Colors of the “drums” would be attractive to the young, and the cartoons might brighten a child’s spirit. My grandson absolutely loves these. In fact this is a carry around every room toy for him. It cracks me up to see him banging on the ocean drums. The beads have stayed inside and the toy as a whole seems durable. This is such a cute toy to watch him play with and keeps him entertained. This would be a great gift for birthday parties.

These sturdy little tambourines with colorful round plastic balls inside are a delight to young children. You should have seen the wide-eyed happy excitement on my one-year-old grandson’s face when I took them out of the box! We had just been to an aquarium so the cute underwater pictures serve as a remembrance of the day. The whale picture is kind of pixelated, as if it was blown up from a smaller image, but kids won’t care and the other picture is perfect. These are actually very good quality tambourines. I had bought a different set of wave bead drums before and had to return them because they were so cheesy. I had also bought a wooden rainstick rattle but it was too short to really make a decent sound. These OPPA Ocean Drums are the best!The tambourines are 10 inches wide, and they have a great sound whether you’re drumming on them or rolling the balls around. The tiny balls make a pleasant swishing sound that reminds me of waves on a pebble beach. The plastic is good quality and not cheap. It even survived getting stood on! These tambourines can teach a very young child about sounds and percussion. Kids will have fun playing and learning about the different sounds that are made when the balls are shaken or rattled around, as well as the drumming sound from hitting the tambour. Since there are two tambourines, two kids can play together or a child and an adult can play along. They came with clips attached to hold two plastic drum sticks. But I took those off because I didn’t want anyone getting hurt with the sticks. Such a simple and fun toy!

These were a hit! (Pun intended!)The 2 Pcs 8" Ocean Drums with Ocean Sounds for Kids, Sea Drums with Wave Beads for Baby, Musical Instruments Percussion for Toddlers is a great toy for little kids. I ordered these to have some toys around for when my nephews are visiting. My 2-year-old nephew immediately loved these and wouldn't play with anything else while he was here. They are fun to even hold and shake around due to the little beads inside the drum. I wouldn't say it has ocean sounds, similar to a rain maker type toy, but they're fun regardless. Downside is they seem to scuff/scratch up fairly easily considering what is meant to be done with them. I feel as though the clear plastic side had a lot of marks on it after he played with it, it did not affect how it was used by any means, but you would think since it is meant to be hit as a drum it wouldn't do that so easily. It can be used as a drum on either side, the underside being just a plain white instead of the fun ocean design on the other side. The drumsticks don't seat all the way into the holder, more so halfway, so they tend to fall out easily.Overall great toy for baby, toddler or young child. I am going to order another set for my older nephew who is autistic as he likes the sounds it makes.
