If you're looking for a small and sturdy foot rest that won't break the bank, you've found it. This foot rest is made out of metal with a textured rubber foot pad and rubber feet. You can collapse and/or re-position the height by moving the metal bar between notches found underneath the foot pad. This is a great product at a great price.

Used with a high jam chair, made it very comfortable to play a banjo with foot stretched out to this step, keeping in with a comfortable way to sit and play my instruments. The step is sturdy and just the right size.

A nice, neat little augmentation when sitting on my Fender performance seat. Only reason not a complete 5-star is due to lack of an accompanying "angled" construction: like every more expensive setup, sits flat, with no angles; otherwise, a sturdy, comfortable footrest, even with me tapping my beats! Why pay more? Just wonderin'.P.S.: I purchased it on sale at Amazon via Warehouse Deals, excellent!

Don't get to use it as much as I'd like, but DEFINITELY makes a difference in playing comfort. This changes the angle of my thigh to be just high enough that the guitar rests far more firmly in place. I can a bit sit more upright now, so my back hurts a lot less after extended playing times. I also no longer have to keep finding a way to scoot the guitar back up higher on my thigh while playing (because the guitar no longer creeps down my leg towards my knee in the first place). It's very sturdy, and does not tend to flop from side to side. I've only used this with my acoustics so far, but I'm confident my electrics would similarly benefit. Very simple, but very nice accessory.

This foot rest is everything it should be:- Comfortable to use- Adjustable- Durable (all metal except for rubber foot pads, and rubber pad for your foot)- Small enough to not add (much) clutter to my life- Collapsible enough to fit in a gig bag- At $10 this is a stealI'm a bass player and when playing sitting down I was getting cramps in my left leg from lifting my heel off the floor for long periods at a time. I tried using random things (rungs at the bottom of a chair, a milk-crate, etc) but nothing felt great (first world problems, I know). After a couple minutes of googling I found this foot rest and it works perfect, I can play for hours now without issue.

This is an excellent and study product. Makes playing the guitar easier. No foot and leg cramps from sitting in odd positions. I play a classical guitar and a full-size dreadnaught which is a bit large for me, so elevating my leg to get the guitar into position is important. This foot rest does the job nicely. Folds flat. Well built. One reviewer commented on getting the wrong product twice. I got the correct product -- Apparently Amazon had corrected the error which was causing wrong product to be shipped. I had this happen recently with a DIFFERENT product and contacted them by phone. Suggestion is that if you have such a problem with ANY amazon product showing repeated errors in shipping that you activate the return option on your order and contact them by PHONE. Tell them that the replacement for one wrong product was wrong again. They need to be notified that errors are occurring so they can fix them. I give Amazon credit for working hard to provide good service to customers. Have been a customer for many years now -- since when they only sold books.

This is a very sturdy foot rest. It works well for all of us. My two kids and myself so the height span is pretty well varied as I'm 5'10". I also know it is very sturdy because it does not slide around when my kids are squirmy or the teacher is re-positioning them. Now I have to admit, I have never had one of these before, so I am not sure what to compare it to, but it seems very comparable to the one their teacher uses. I would recommend this one, I think it is a great value.Update: We did need more so that we would all have one when we play together. I also ended up ordering one for one of their friends. The guitar teacher said this is a very sturdy foot rest. It is a little on the heavy side, his foot rest is lighter, but to me that just means it's a difference in metals used for making it and I don't think it's that heavy. It works great for us and the price is right. Especially since we needed three of them. So far the first one survived the three of us sharing over the summer, so I'm sure the other two will continue on just as well. Very happy with this purchase.

How much can you really write about a foot rest? The essentials:Use: I am using this as a foot rest for playing classical guitar.Pros:It is heavy and made from sturdy material. I have not observed any bending after 5 months of use.The height variability is perfectly fine for my needs. The base is wide enough to provide sufficient stability.Con:The smell was absolutely ghastly for the first 2-3 months. There must be some nasty VOC used in the manufacturing process that takes quite a while to gas out. I didn't mind it, but for someone sensitive to smells, this would be deal breaker. 1 star reduction for that.Summary: Sturdy and versatile foot rest with a strong odor.

The other reviews for this foot rest called it sturdy and well built. They were right. It can be adjusted to a number of different heights to suit your particular needs - and based on the design of the stand it will stay where it's put. One of the best parts is that while it is stable enough to be the main foot rest where I play my guitar it can be collapsed flat and it easily fits into a bag or backpack - probably around half of the thickness of a chord book, although heavier, as it is steel with a rubber tread on top. It feels like I will own this for a long time - a well priced, good value.Edit2/2013After owning this for around a year and using it every day I find that it still looks and works like new. I recommend it highly.
