I am writing this because there are no enough reviews out there before I bought this AVR. I bought this because I wanted eARC capability, wish to try Dirac, and wanted dual independent subs output. However, after trying it out for a few days, listening to music and movies, I decided to return it.Issues noticed:1. After using the default mic and Onkyo phone app to perform Dirac room eq measurement, both of my subs output noticeable hum noise and can be heard from more than 12 feet away. Did a system reset, the hum is gone without DIRAC enabled.2. I am not satisfied with the preouts' quality. My setup is above average. Speakers + Subs + multiple stereo amps retailed for $20K+. With the same setup and same room, I have used older Marantz AV processor and older Pioneer Elite preouts. Thus, I have a good baseline to determine the quality of the Onkyo's preouts. The Onkyo lacks clean separation of instruments and lacks micro details clarity. With my Marantz and Pioneer preouts, I could raise the volume to reference level and have fun with music and movies. With Onkyo, trying to go loud only annoyed me.Of cause, depending on your setup, your room, your sensitivities to micro details, you mileage may vary. It is still a "good" AVR.

I've had this for a few months now. Setup was not easy but the two extra channels of ATMOS overhead do offer a marked improvement.Sound quality through paradigm (fronts and center) as well as the surrounds is great.Bluetooth connectivity is not functional, full stop. Chromecast worked initially but has now stopped. Come on guys. This isn't rocket surgery.

Amazing sound for stereo music (cd and vinyl), surround movies and Atmos with Klipsch speakers!
