This is my second order for these compression sacks. They are made very well and handle the tension of compression in the long-run. I liked them so much I came back for more.

I carry this rain poncho/skirt everywhere with me when I go out in the spring and summer because I live in a place where the climate is often rainy and muddy. This folds up compactly and has its own storage bag so it's very portable, easy to stash in your bag and doesn't take up much space. I love that it can be a poncho or a skirt. The waterproofness is good and the seams are well covered. The material is not super thick but it is fine quality.

Love this rain kilt. Got it for backpacking and it packs small enough to keep in the pocket of my rain jacket. Keeps my legs dry while hiking and keeps the air flowing. My old rain pants would make me sweat but this kilt lets the air flow. It's also blocks the wind when it's a little cool out. I'll never go back to rain pants again.

I wore this for the first time last week, hiking around a flat area in light rain for about an hour. The skirt/ kilt was plenty waterproof and I avoided the dreaded wet quads.I have long legs so I did have a couple concerns. At first it looked like water was dripping off the hem onto my ankles and into my shoes. I found that if I wear it low enough, it will not drip into my boots. Second, there's a hook to hold the skirt/ kilt together at the bottom which restricts stride length a little and makes it challenging to jump over mud puddles without busting the hook.

I only rated it "in the middle" due to the really lightweight material used to make the skirt piece. The idea is long past due; rain pants have always been a hassle to put on/take off. They are either waterproof and you get soaked from sweat, or they are comfortable, but leak. The idea of a skirt or kilt makes so much more sense. Other than being in a howling wind, I would think the skirt could handle the situation. And as we all know, in a howling wind, you are going to get wet no matter what. The back side will take quite a bit of wear and tear while sitting, sliding over logs, etc. Future models might want to consider using a heavier/thicker material. Or even add double layers or bumpers to the skirt. I am also curious about the functioning of the belt; it seems a bit too narrow to give you a good hold on the skirt. Less complicated than a suspenders set up, but that too might be in for a future version. But what a great idea, particularly in areas where rain comes with humidity and heat. My sense is that using this skirt will be like the old days when I wore a cagoule. It was grand piece of clothing; rolled it down when the rain was heavy, rolled it up when things slowed down.

I've had rain pants, they work. These work just as well at keeping me dry, so win win.BUT this is SO much better.First off, when it started raining, I could put this on without taking my pack off. just wrap it around and then clip the bottom. Rain pants I have to pull over my muddy boots and then the insides are gross or I have to take my boots off and... stop it, it is raining.Second, rain pants are a sweaty restrictive mess. This had a nice breeze and airflow while keeping me dry? that alone made them easy to wear for long periods of time. Just way more comfortable.Third, pack super tiny. like I could bring 4 of these for the size of rain pants. Toss it in the top of the pack.Fourth, cheap. Mine were fine on multiple training hikes and a long 2 week trail. But at this cost, even if I ruined them in a season they'd be a decent value. But mine is still in great shape.Do you kinda look like you have a plastic sheet wrapped around your waist? Yes. But that is ok.

Onewind rain skirt. This rain skirt is a good budget choice. i have used it in a down pour and it worked fantastic. It did not trip me or slip down during the hike through rugged unmaintained trails. I try to avoid polyester gear because it leaches estrogen and his onewind skirt is nylon so that makes me happy. It makes a sound when walking but it is very subtle, like a very quiet woosh that did not distract at all from the peacefulness of the forest. it is quieter than other nylon gear i have heard.i did not get hot and sweaty under it either.the blue is pretty and masculine. the green is a dark tactical green color. it was almost too big for my 37-inch waist. I'm not sure if it will fit skinnier people as well as if fits me. the Velcro strip looks like it might not work for a small waste, but that's just me guessing. They claim this nylon has a DWR on one side and Silicone on the other. While i can see it has a coating of some kind on it, this item just does not have the look and feel that i have come to associate with a siliconized nylon. as per example "sea to summit" or 'granite gear" but the budget price is there.a good balance between weight, bulk and price.my FAVORITE feature of this skirt is that the stuff sack is sewn onto it permanently so i cannot lose it. and the stuff sack doubles as a snack bag right at waist level when its being worn. UPDATE. The camo version of this skirt briefly appeared on Amazon so I bought it. The camo version is unbranded and different sizes. The stuff sack is seen on the wrong face and the cloth seems stiff. Stuff sack seam started to rip immediately so I had to sew a stop stitch. I don't love it. 3 star quality for the camo. Picture shows both skirts next to each other. The Velcro and loops are great quality however and it still functions to specs.
