This product works great! I wish I had known about it sooner as I have always had issues with my ruler moving while cutting my fabric. Definitely recommend.

Update: the below exception was user error. Found the TRUE end of the roll which was slightly longer than my 12 ½ sq ruler. Finished the last 2 rulers with a piece left for some small quilting templates. So far well pleased. I have a day of cutting ahead of me so we'll see how well it does not slip. Initial try is great.Covered larger rulers first without issue a 5 x 24 (cut 2 - 5 x 12 and placed end to end) and a 12 ½ square - one piece. Placing/positioning the film was easy. I then cut a 8 ½ sq and a 3 ½ x 9 ½ for last 2 rulers but COULD NOT PULL/SEPARATE the film from the backing. It either pulled a very thin film which is opaque and not reusable (URQ of pic) or the backing split (ULQ of pic). If you blow up the pic you can see the air bubbles trapped on the 12 ½ sq rulers but it's clear.

I have a QuiltCut2 and I put this on the cutting guide. Wow, it holds to the fabric so I have to use very little pressure to hold the guide in place. Easy to put on and take off and put back on again. Wish I had known about this years ago. Worth every penny.

Was about to order new rulers. My quilt was a nightmare because ruler kept shooting. Invisagrip works great. Works better than my frosted rulers. Only 24" rulers I used 2 odd like 6 x 7 pcs a few works great. Just small pcs will work if you start running out. Ordering a second roll.

You can see through it and it helps hold the rulers in place.

I first tried this on a ruler while attending a class & then needed to purchase more for all my rulers & templates. It is invisible once applied, goes on smoothly & keeps the ruler/template from slipping. Other things I have tried raised the ruler above the fabric, this did not.

I really really wanted this stuff to work but it didn't for me not quite. I bought this invisible grip for one of my larger rulers (6” x 24”) as I was pressing along the ruler with my entire forearm and spending a huge amount of extra time trying to prevent slippage. After looking around online for tips I came across a video of a quilter applying this omnigrid invisible grip roll to one of her rulers. The process looked really easy and it seemed to help so I went ahead and purchased some. Unfortunately I couldn't even get it to stick to my ruler (and this was after reading the directions and watching a few videos to make sure I was applying it right). After the first failed attempt I washed my ruler and waited for it to air dry and scanned the now exposed vinyl cling for any dust or stray threads that could be impeding the adhesion but couldn't find anything. I tried to reapply the vinyl piece but it wouldn't stick, I tried using gentle pressure then very very firm pressure and could only get it to stick in small spots here and there along the ruler (I even tried a small cutting from what remained from the roll and tried applying it backwards in case I had mixed up which way the vinyl was supposed to adhere) . I ended up taping the vinyl to the ruler to get it to stay on which isn't the outcome I was hoping for but now at least the money hasn't been wasted. Now that I do have the vinyl applied to the ruler it does seem to help with the slippage it was just a huge pain and disappointment to apply. I'm wondering now if the larger than average size of the ruler is what caused the film to not stick. The ruler also has a slightly frosted look but when I run my fingers along it and look closely I can't feel or see anything (unlike some brands of rulers which feel like they have bits of sandpaper in spots along the bottom); the ruler wasn't marketed as being non slip when I purchased it as well just more suitable for dark colors.I think from now on I will just save up for the more expensive non slip rulers. I wish I had smaller more normal quilting rulers to test how this applies to them. I only have the large rulers for my bow tie business and sewing my own clothes and haven't needed anything smaller. My final thoughts on this are that it probably doesn't work on any matte finish, frosted, and maybe even colored rulers. It also may not work well on larger rulers were the static cling effect may be disrupted at several points along the greater distance. I wish that on their website or somewhere, anywhere that is was stated that it has limitations instead of their “makes any ruler nonstick” claim.

This product is a clear piece of plastic. You cut it to size, peel off the back and attach it to your ruler. It attaches to the back of the ruler by static cling. I'm not sure, but I think it is the same static cling that prevents the ruler from moving. I purchased this product about one year ago. I am a quilter that has always had trouble with rulers slipping. This product does not glue the ruler to the fabric. I think it gives you a very slight advantage when it comes to making the ruler more stable. If you can cut out a quilt and always have a few strips that slipped this may just be the product for you. If you are expecting a product that glues the ruler to the fabric, this is not it. I use my rulers almost daily. The omnigrid grip shows no signs of wear. I do have a few rulers that don't have the backing. I can still tell the difference between those that have the backing and those that don't. My backings have not curled at the edges. I liked this product so much I told all my quilting friends about it. Most of them were already using it. I was annoyed that they hadn't told me about the product. After using the invisible grip for about a year I know why my friends didn't tell me about it. You put it on your rulers and forget about it because it is invisible. If a conversation had come up about slipping rulers, perhaps my quilting friends would have said they used it. I was hesitant to purchase this product, since I had never heard of it. In my opinion it is a vital tool in my quilting room. I would not be without it. I would only recommend it if you only have a few strips that slip. If a large percentage of your strips slip this is not the product for you.
