Weather you need these for big sockets like these or for smaller ones- Don’t waste you’re money on other sets first like I did and go ahead and get these.

They seem pretty solid for holding the sockets in place. I keep my tools in bags because I travel with them, so I was concerned about flimsy rails that would let the sockets pop off; my 3/8" metric shallow sockets were on such a rail, so the sockets would be scattered in my bag. I don't think that will be an issue with these, though - they seem to lock the sockets in place pretty well.I have broken an end clip or two - I just don't seem to have the hang of popping it off without breaking the little tabs on the sides. So, be careful about that. It's not like you're removing those regularly, just during setup.These allowed me to stop using the plastic cases the tools came in and save a bunch of space in my bags. Definitely worth it.Some notes on ordering - I assumed I'd need one rail for shallow 3/8" drive sockets, and one for deep wells, but it turns out both actually fit on the same rail. On the other hand, my largest 1/2" drive socket in SAE won't fit on that rail, so I'm going to order a black 1/2" rail to hold that, metric 1/2" deep well sockets, and a few other 1/2" drive odds and ends.Similarly, all of my shallow 1/4" drive sockets, metric and regular, plus the 3/8"->1/4" adapter (using the clip from a 3/8" rail) fit on one rail, so I wish I'd ordered a black rail for that purpose and skipped the red and blue 3 packs. Since I already had them, I just used one of the red or blue rails.For now, I'm leaving my 3/8" drive hex and torx sockets on their original rails, but at some point I might get a black 3/8" rail to hold them.

These solved my problem of organizing my sockets.Problem solved.Solid. Easy to remove sockets and put them back. I only wish it have more brackets in one strip. Oh well.

It does the job very nicely and the spring ball is a huge improvement over the old all metal style but... The weak point is the plastic. I've used it often removing & reinstalling sockets hundreds of times with no failure yet. Most plastics get brittle with age so time will tell but so far so good.

I'm an engineer and expect my tools to be high quality, last forever, and meet my every need. I was worried when looking for a socket organizer that I would get something that's cheap or flimsy, as the sockets themselves can weigh quite a bit (especially long sockets). I did not want the sockets to be too hard to pull off the organizer, or so loose they fall off. I also did not want a flimsy system that flexed or bent or failed over time.Well - these organizers are the closed thing to prefect I found. The frame is aluminum - light weight but very rigid and strong. I LOVE the fact these come in 3 colors. I chose to use one color for the 1/4" drive sockets, one for the 3/8", and one for the 1/2" socket drives. But you could use different colors for metric versus English sockets. I wrapped colored tape around each of my drivers to match the color of the organizers too.The clips that hold the sockets have a ball bearing which works really well. The clips are nylon, but they seem to be strong and the ball bearing has just enough resistance to hold the sockets without making it tough to pull them off. The aluminum frame has an end cap that stops the clips coming off the end. The endcap is a bit hard to pop off - which is fine by me. It certainly will stay on and not come off accidentally.The nylon clips will fit on any of the organizers. So you can buy an organizer for 3/8" sockets and another for 1/2" sockets, then move the clips between the organizers. So you could create an organizer that has a blend of 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" socket drivers just by moving the clips around.

Purchased several sets of Osla's socket rails and they are absolutely awesome! Easily top 1-2 socket rails I've used. As others note, they are expensive but in this case, you really do get good value for your money.They are longer than most I've used, which allows for more sockets in larger sets. Additional socket clips can be purchased in sets which is very useful if you need to make a rail with different size extensions. I have one rail in black that has 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 swivels and various adapters.Pros:* Longer and offer more clips than most rails.* Sockets grip to rails very good. Even half inch socket sets, turned upside down, hold them in place.* Very sturdy aluminum.* Can mix 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 sockets on a rail to create a rail for extensions, swivels and other adapters.Cons:* Optional magnetic strip on bottom to hold rails would be nice.* A socket rail tray designed for these rails would be helpful.Recommendation:You can't go wrong with these rails. Value to price is right on target for a rail set like these. Recommended.
