The OJYDOIIIY Fishing Rod Holder is exactly as described. There are straps on each end that wrap around the grab handles at the roof/headliner of the vehicle. You must have grab handles available at all four doors. There are buckles at each end which allow you to adjust and position the rod holders closer to one side or the other or simply center within the interior of the vehicle. The buckles are very easy to pull tight so that there is very minimal slag throughout. The instructions are not great however setup is fairly self explanatory, it may have taken me about 5 minutes first time going back and forth to each side a few times to position it how I wanted it. Where the instructions do come in handy is showing that the two straps aren’t identical as one strap has spring loaded clips which is to be placed in the front to secure the handle end of the rods whereas the other strap have hooks with indentions for placement of the rubber bands to hold the mid portion of the rod on the hook. I initially found it strange that the back strap had clips flipped in the opposite direction however I’m guessing that this was done to help keep the strap off of the headliner to keep from snagging hooks into the headliner. Personally I would remove all hooks and line prior to placing in the vehicle as these straps are still very close to the headliner. As for the usability of this product, I certainly can see the purpose of this however all vehicles are made different and this doesn’t allow for much head room in my vehicle (full disclosure, photos are shown it installed in a 5th gen 4Runner with sunroof). The rod with no reel would be no problem, even a closed face reel may not be much of an issue however open face spin cast reels tend to extend from the rod more and these hang straight down. I would not utilize this product if I have a front seat passenger with me. I will give this product a chance as it is certainly a better solution than tossing my rods in the back of the vehicle risking damage from moving around. The price isn’t terrible and this does provider a safer form of transportation for expensive rods.
