Sturdy poles for running lights from my pergola to a 5ft block wall. Installation of the poles ont he wall was easy with a masonry bit and the included hardware. I only need a few sections of the pole as they are starting about 4 feet off the ground. The result is a stable light post for a 50ft string of lights that runs about 11 feet from the pergola to the wall then runs another 10 feet to another pole and back to the other side of the pergola at about 12 feet, I don't have any sag issues with the poles so they work great for me.

These are really easy to assemble and are effective at holding up strings of lights. I wouldn’t necessarily call them sturdy—my dog bumped into one and it moved so much that the string of lights it was holding got ripped off the side of the house where they were attached. It did stay in the ground though. If you don’t have any outside factors like kooky dogs or energetic children, they should work out just fine.

These string light poles are as advertised and what I expected. They are hollow poles, with a nice matte black finish. Although they are hollow, they are sturdy enough to do the job, but not super heavy duty. I like that you can screw in the separate sections to make them any height you need. (I did not screw in all the sections in the pictures shown). Once all sections are screwed in, they do reach a height of 10 feet tall. The bottom claw pieces can be used for installing into the ground, or it comes with metal pieces and screws for attaching to a deck railing if preferred. I liked that these poles provided both options. These will work well for me to hang my string lights and attach to my deck.

Added these in my back yard with some other poles I had and 100 feet of string lights. Works quite well and very strong. Had about 20ft of lights supported by each pole. Didn't sag. Went into the ground with a little effort. Paint/powder coat looked good with no noticeable blemishes or scratches. Good poles!

Positives:The have a nice quality feel to them.The screw together easily.Being in sections give you some flexibility in height for your needs.The bottom section with the spikes is 10 inches. The 7 middle pieces are 14.5 inches but only add 13.25 inches of height after screwing in. The top piece is 12.5 inches (not including the hooks). All together it's 10 feet (as stated in the product title) from the top of the hooks to the bottom of the spikes. Usable height will depend how far you put it into the ground. I would put at least a foot into the ground maybe a foot and a half, giving you 8.5 to 9 feet of usable height.There are five spikes on the foot, one large one in the middle, two skinnier ones welded on to the foot, and a skinny pair that slides down perpendicular to the welded ones. They do lock in from moving left or right but will slide off when pounding the main foot into the ground. You will have to pound them in separately or slide a larger pipe over the base (which will hold the spikes in place) and pound that pipe to drive the base into the ground. Then you can screw in the rest of the pole to the base.We tested the pole by driving it about ten inches into the very wet rain soaked ground. The pole itself is sturdy but would need to be deeper, more like a 12 to 12.5 inches to make it solid in the ground. We plan on putting them in concrete about 12 inches in the ground when spring rolls around.Being hallow poles, they are not super heavy, but are strong and sturdy.
