Make sure to pop the upper and lower ball joints out if the tapered sockets first before trying to loosen or tighten the ball joint pre-load with the split taper threaded inserts. If you use this socket to try and turn out the adjusters with ball joints firmly seated, it will not work and you will likely break the ears off the socket. Socket is well worth the cost upon reassembly to get the correct ball joint preload and correct knuckle tension while turning left and right.
