I ordered this tool to be able to work on my and some friends cars. My friend and I were doing an inner tie rod replacement on a 2014 Chevrolet Volt, and both the crows feet and tube end were not rigid enough, kept opening up and slipping. There was also too much play when the wrenches were in the tool, and the crowfeet is quite narrow. We tried to shim it with no luck. We even went and borrowed one from AutoZone with the same outcome. It ended up rounding the original tie rod faces. I needed it to torque to 77ft-lbs; I do not believe this tool could do it on this vehicle. I ended up buying a standard crow's foot with my 1/2” wrench to do the job.

This tool was like a dream, and it solved my issue perfectly. I just think it costs too much for what you get. I'd definitely recommend it anyway, though.

Used this tons at work so far. It always has the size I need and even has more sizes than my coworkers sets. Extremely pleased.

Product is "quality" does handle most applications. However for that one time you thought 🤔 that it could handle an impact, you lose! So if you buy it, or lend it out manual only no impact

This tool did a very tough job. My car is up in age and is at that point when even simple stuff is challenging due to rust/age and adds time and complexity to the job. I first tried a sub $20 clamp style tool, which just slipped. I could have tightened the clamp more and gave it another try (and I did but not again a 3rd time), but due to the off centered nature of that clamp style tool I felt it was better ponying up the money for a tool that I can turn from the centerline instead of offset.I'm glad I didn't try to go further with the clamp style, and I waited for this one. It had the size I needed and made a good connection (have to lock it in place and pull back when turning). It tool quite a bit of force with a cheater bar but the tie rod end came out. I feel being able to turn it in line with the center of rotation helped a lot, and the length of it put it in a good position to turn. I can't see the clamp style working with the amount of force I needed, but who knows. On the other hand it is quite a bit up in price compared to other similar styles which I may have tried if it was not for the clamp style not working, but I do feel this one is quality and it is solid.

I don't often buy specialized, single-purpose tools. However, for the replacement of inner tie-rods, a special tool is needed.I bought this kit because my truck required an odd-sized wrench size which didn't come with all of the kits. This kit seems to have just about every size for tie-rods.It made the removal of my tie rod extremely easy!It also allows for the proper installation of the new tie rod as there is a 1/2in drive opening on the end for the use of a torque wrench to ensure you torque your new inner rod to the correct specs.

This tool is available from various makers and comes in many versions. I decided on this one because it included the Toyota 29 mm adapter and a few others. No, it will not break, disintegrate or, otherwise, come apart. It is a heavy duty, sturdy tool that took the inner tie rod off with an easy 1/2 turn. The 1/2" drive fitting is snug, with no play. NO IMPACT WRENCH IS NEEDED, nor its use is recommended by the manufacturer. During the installation, it was as easy to bring the torque up to 60 ft.lbs. I did not experience a problem with the lock mechanism; I do suggest to keep it lubed prior to using as this makes it easy sliding it over the adapters. One could be turn off by the color but, the paint actually makes it easy to wipe off any grease / oil and is has no importance in the functionality of the tool.
