I’ve been buying misc tools for home repairs and these OEM tools are not bad at all. I could even use them at work if needed.

Had to buy this tool to compress my caliper piston when changing my pads on my golf 2016. Worked perfectly and was easy to use.For the price, the value of this tool is excellent. Strongly built!I'd recommended this as a must for people that do their own brake maintenance.

A must have if you’re gone complete a brake job efficiently, in record time and without damaging the caliper piston or rip a brake line. Seconds to setup and get those calipers ready for new pads. Saves a ton of time and knuckle skin, decompressing the pistons and will work on virtually any vehicle. Professional grade kit is well made, easy to use and sturdy. I save hundreds of dollars by doing my own brakes. Worked perfect on my front and rear 2017 Volvo XC90 T6 as well as on our 2000 VW Beetle, and 2015 Ford F150. I would recommend this brake kit to both professional mechanics and the once every two year DYI shade tree mechanic.

This set is a decent set that suits its purpose. It is not distinguishable from its competing brands, you can tell the ones that are all appearing the same with just different cases. Comparing to the Snap-On smaller 7 piece set, the quality is considerably lower. That said, this set works well. The threads on the thrust bolts are solid, but be sure to lubricate them properly. Under proper use, these appear to hold up just fine, but I do question their ability to withstand some abuse, like an impact or a breaker bar used for the application of force.I like and chose OEM tools here because their tools are reasonably good quality and they are backed by a lifetime guarantee. Although I question the ability to stand up to daily professional use, for a DIY person, I believe this is a solid buy, from my usage experience after purchase.

I have a Volkswagen Passat. When I went to change the rear brakes, I could not find a tool to reseat the calipers. I went to find a tool and Volkswagen wanted 125 dollars for one that only works with this car. I then searched around and found this tool kit, which works with many different models of cars. I have two others cars that also have rear disc brakes that I can use this tool on. This tool also works on the front calipers and is much easier to use than using a C clamp. Great tool well worth the price. It will pay for itself many times over.

I have replaced brakes for almost 30 years. I always used a C-clamp and a block of wood to compress the piston(s) when replacing disc brakes. A couple of months ago I was replacing the disc brakes on my son's 2000 Mustang and discovered I needed a screw in disc brake tool to do the rear brakes. Luckily I was able to rent an OEM set at a local Auto parts store to complete the job. I'm not in the habit of renting especially when I can buy an affordable tool set. In comes Amazon. I bought the OEM 27111 Disc Brake Tool Set in June 2011. Well, I replaced the disc brakes on my 2001 Ford Explorer today (July 31, 2011) and I finally had a chance to use this set. I am impressed. After I was done the only thing I could say was I wish I had bought a set like this sooner. The forcing plate is shaped to fit inside the caliper and the round piston plate fit perfectly over the piston making compression a breeze. No more fumbling and trying to find the best place to anchor a C-clamp and a block of wood to compress the piston. I will never use a block of wood and a C-clamp again. This is a must have tool set for anyone who does their own brakes. This is a quality set and reasonably priced. I absolutely love it and wish I had purchased a set like this sooner.
