Believe it or not, I have not owned a dust mop in ages. When I recently enlisted the aid of a part-time cleaning lady, she requested a dust mop. Her main requirement was a dust mop that rotated. After searching Amazon and reading reviews, I decided on this one. It came disassembled but was quickly and easily put together. The handle is long enough but not too long. The microfiber chenille mop head rotates smoothly and moves easily over hard wood and ceramic tile floors picking up just about everything in sight; I really had no idea there was so much dog hair! The debris that adheres to the mop head stays on the mop head and does not fall off only to be deposited in other parts of the room. The mop head is easily removed for washing but, I will note that one of the sewn threads on the top began to unravel after just two uses. I cut it off, but time will tell if that is a disabling flaw or simply a fluke. With this mop head one is able to get under and around furniture very easily, dust the base boards in one fell swoop, and tuck into difficult to reach spots as well. The chenille loops collectively are thick enough that furniture legs are not nicked in the cleaning process. At the same time in order to be readily prepared, I ordered a replacement microfiber chenille mop head to have on hand when the current one has fulfilled its destiny and needs to be discarded. We live in a house with 'expresso' colored floors. They were here before we moved in. This color was designed by someone who has never cleaned a floor. Hence this mop is a godsend because we are forever cleaning dust and cat hair (he is short haired). The floor shows every speck of dust and this mop picks up every speck. Its the right size to get into all the corners and under all the furniture. All the dust and fur cling to the mop head. It is machine washable. With its swivel head it is easy to maneuver. It is great for hardwood, laminate and ceramic. We like it so much we ordered another mop head just in case this is discontinued.

I've been using this for 5 weeks. My Home is 60% hardwood floors, including two sets of hardwood steps and a kitchen and 2 bathrooms with linoleum. I have four humans and one dog living in this home and the floors get pretty dirty. The hardwood and linoleum are in heavy traffic areas. I was not impressed with the big name dry/ wet mopping system and wanted to use something that was more environmentally friendly, aka washable and reusable. For $14, I figured I could give this one a shot. I was very well pleased with how much dirt this picked up. It picked up more dirt using as a dry mop then that big name brand. I am visually impaired and check my work by feeling and when I would touch the floors, they were clean! I was even using less wet mopping because using this dry mop every other day was doing such a good job. It was saving me from having to do more work. In those five weeks, after using the duster, I would clean it off after each use. I had only felt the need to wash it twice, deciding to do so when it seemed to not be picking up as much dirt as it had previously. The first time I washed it was with the washing machine and air dried, the second time. I just washed it in the sink with dish soap and allowed it to air dry. It worked perfectly as expected after each washing.All that said, the mop itself is fantastic and does an amazing job. I would highly recommend it to anyone. However, the handle that the mop attaches to is not as impressive. Today while I was using the mop, dry, one of the tabs that holds it into place came off inside the mop. I inspected these tabs a little closer and they are not very well secure. I would have thought there would be some sort of snap to put the tabs into place, however, there is just a perforation so the tabs are able to move. In order to put the mop head onto the handle. I might be able to duct tape this back into place so I can still use the handle, but no one should have to repair a product that they have only been using for 5 weeks. That is why this product did not receive as many stars as I would have liked to given it. I would look into returning the item, however, for $14, I suppose I got what I paid for. As long as you understand this is not a great handle, but it is an awesome mop that does a fantastic job, you will be pleased with this product.
