Drum sander outboard handle allows pressure with control — no wiggle. Probably should order some strip sanding cloth with it — you’ll need some.

Call this a gripe. Right up-front, this is a nicely made well engineered accessory tool that should perform very well when used as suggested. It has some limitations, but it's one of those things that you'll be happy to have when you need it. Now for the gripe. This hand-held drum sander must be totally disassembled to change the paper. No big deal because all that's required is the removal of one nut. And the manufacturer provides a stamped open-end wrench that would fit that nut, so what's the problem? Trouble is that the nut sits in a recess and can only be accessed with a socket wrench. The open-end wrench is useless and serves no other purchase. The other end of this included tool is used to tighten the paper on the drum and that part works fine. But I guess that anyone who might find this tool useful would also already multiple choices of sockets that would fit that nut, so get over it. Still, it would have nice if one had been supplied like that pictured in the illustrations. You'd probably keep said socket with the sander along with the provided paper insertion tool. As Is you'll have to dig-out a socket set. I'm done gripping - buy the tool anyway.

There were no instructions included. Easy replacement of less expensive sheet sandpaper is the whole point of this tool. Finally figured out what was needed to change the sandpaper and came to two conclusions: the included tool is worthless (see other reviews) and the key part that secures the sandpaper is so flimsy and is jammed so tightly it won't survive more than two or three changes. Sending it back for a refund.

Nice design concept. Better control than the classic sand drum chucked in a hand drill. Although, this particular design apparently was not tested sufficiently. The retaining Nylon Locknut for the handle would not stay tight. I had to tighten the nut a number of times within a half hour while working on my project. Then, when I tried to change the sandpaper, I found the rubber on the sand drum melted to the back of the sandpaper. At that point I gave up on this tool and went back to using my classic drum chucked in the drill. This tool was frustrating and a waste of time.

Nice idea poorly implemented.Drum did not run true, so wobbled whilst spinning leading to uneven sanding, even with no sandpaper on.

Item arrived 1 day late dispite being Prime customer.Having read the instructions I found that the Wrench (Small spanner) that came with the tool to use when changing the sandpaper could not be used.The head of the wrench is too large to get to the nylon nut.

Perfect tool for inside curves. Took a few attempts to get the feel of how to balance drill and handle, but after a few tries works really well.

Where has this tool been all of my life? I love this thing! It is so easy to use, and sands so quickly, I wish I would have had one years ago! It's easy to change out the sandpaper too. It's perfect for small jobs you want to finish up quickly, or rounding off sharp edges. It's fun to use, easy to change out, and a perfect gift for that powertool user who has everything! I highly recommend!
