We bought this specific flute because of the advertised first note lip plate but it is impossible to use this and have the lower notes of the lower register. With that plate it is near to impossible to get those low notes, unless one blow so little air that there is almost no sound coming out of the flute. With a little bit of air volume the flute is instantly going into the second register with that lip plate.It is much easier to make a proper sound using a metal flute. This is very hard if you are a beginner. I had no problem getting those notes with the rental Yamaha student flute but this is very discouraging. I thought I could play and learn tunes easier because of that special lip plate but I cannot even play the songs I want to play because I cannot get the lower notes.I guess all these flutes are the same because I first bought the Nuvo student flute and got the same problem. I returned it because I thought it was defective and this one is doing the exact same thing. I guess children using this flute with the first note lip plate are going to be playing in the higher register without even knowing it.You got to be a well experienced flute player in order to get a decent sound from that flute. I would think this is a good flute for those who are experienced and want to go camping with a flute but not risk their 10,000$ flute.After speaking with a representative of the company, he told me that the first note lip plate is only meant to produce a few notes to get the kids starting. If I had known, I would not have bought it because I was counting on it to fully work according to the description. Only a few notes is not useful at all to get anyone started.I gave it 3 stars because the ergonomic and weight are excellent for a person with small hands. But in order to play this flute, a person would really need to get the embouchure correctly. It require more air than a metal flute.

Flauta perfecta para iniciación infantil. Además viene en combinaciones muy bonitas. La compramos un poco dudosos pero el profesor de instrumento de nuestra hija quedó encantado con la flauta y nos pidió referencias para recomendarla a los alumnos.
