Needs 2 9v batteries if you want to use lighted buttons. Chinese junk. Do not tighten the terminal screws. They strip with the slightest torque. Don't bother using the wall anchors that come with. They just spin in the drywall. The wooden cover hangs sloppy crooked. NuTone should be ashamed to charge so much for this poor quality.

Sounds and looks great. When it arrived the wooden cover was broken in shipment. I contacted the company and they sent a replacement cover. Great customer support.

The mechanical chime works well with our Ring electronic bell on our door. It did take a little bit of time to make it work. We called customer service and walked us through it.

Decorative wooden door bell with chimes. I don’t know how long it will hold up, but it looks much better than the website picture. Very pleased so far.

I had this installed in my home 8 years ago and have enjoyed the chimes ever since. I changed out my doorbell for a camera doorbell only to find that the new camera fried the mother board of the chimes. (Something about the doorbell mechanisms being incompatible.) So, liking the chimes so much, I ordered another one. (I could have ordered just a new mother board as the company is very service oriented and cooperative.() However, the cherry cover of the new unit had a split in the board. I could have used it as the split was straight and very thin, but I chose to use the older wood cover (still in good condition) on the newer base. This defect should not have been sent out, thus the only reason for the 4-star rating --- otherwise I would have rated it 10!

I thought that a door chime would be loud enough that you could hear it at least twenty five feet away from were it was,. this one isn't. I contacted Build .com and ask if i could exchange it for a different model and pay the difference. They informed that since i installed it they could not do anything for me. I ask them how i would know if it would even work if i did not install it.They told me it would lose eighty percent of its value after being installed. I would recommend before buying from Build.com you research their return policy. I myself will never purchase anything from them and will tell every one i know about my experience.

It's okay but way overpriced. Difficult to install because the instructions don't match the product. If you are pretty good with wiring you can do it but the directions aren't good and are not user friendly. The tone is ok--kind of mechanical and not that melodic but pleasant enough. Certainly nobody will mistake it for an old style doorbell. The look is fine. The wood is fine.The metal pipes are aluminum but hey--not plastic. It's just one more reminder of how cheap stuff is these days. Somewhere a rich CEO is on his yacht and I paid $200 for just okay.
