Cover snapped on my old inlet. This was a perfect replacement. Used a Dremel tool to remove the old one since I didn't have a heat gun. Be careful - 2 inch vacuum PVC pipe is much thinner than schedule 40 but piece fit perfectly.

The in-line unit fitted into the vacuum tee perfect and worked as a inline connection to my central vacuum at the receiver tank

We need to replace our cental vacuum inlet, and this has worked perfectly. I would definitely recommend this product.

Very happy with the inlet. Seems sturdy and well made. The inlet is designed to connect to 2” thin wall vacuum PVC pipe. Local home improvement stores do not carry this type of pipe or the corresponding PVC fittings. But, don’t let that you stop you. Home improvement stores stock what is called schedule 40 (SCH40) pipe and fittings. SCH40 pipe has a thicker wall. The difference in the pipes is that one is 2” on the outside and the other is 2” on the inside. To get this inlet to connect to more readily available SCH40 pipe you just need to purchase two fittings and PVC glue. One 2” DWV SCH40 Coupling - UPC 039923220301 @ 75¢. One 2”x1 1/2” DWV SCH40 Flush Bushing - UPC 039923216601 @ $1.17. They fit together as shown in picture (just need to add glue and push fully together). Both of these fittings are available on Amazon. I spent a bit of time in my local home improvement store trying MANY different fittings to come up with this combination and bought my fittings there. So, there is no reason in my mind to hesitate buying this inlet.

Needed an outlet in my basement in an area with no finished wall or studs. This looks much better than the type that look like an outlet cover. I did use glue on the fitting to secure into the pipe but the fit was so perfect that I really did not need to.

Works well for a garage or unfinished wall piping location as it will fit directly into a pipe tee Y fitting. Note the issue with springs and contacts falling out if screws removed when outlet is in position shown. Alternatively, wire leads can be installed prior to installation of outlet.

Arrived in time but discovered a missing pin after installing it. Could not remove it to send it back. Very poor quality.
