I tried, sanding, heat gun, chemical, and scraping. I couldn't get that paint off until I got these and put them of my angle grinder.

THEY STRIP OFF PAINT, STICKERS, RUST WITHOUT HURTING THE STEEL. BUT THIS COMES AT A COST TO THE DISC. IT IS SOFTER WHICH LEADS TO NOT THE LONGEST LIFE. BUT THIS IS EXPECTED SO THE PRICE INDOCATES THAT. YOU WILL USE THESE UP BUT YOU WILL GET THE JOB DONE WITHOUT SUBSTRATE DAMAGE

Product works great. I used it to polish some aluminum on a boat. The next time I used the product on galvanized steel anchor it left a slight reddish residue. May have been due to the wheel being worn or glossed over. Not a deal breaker for me, but worth noting.

Used to de-crud an old, used SS kitchen sink. Put them on my grinder and the sink was gleaming again in minutes. Took off paint, hard water deposits, and polished out scratches very well.

I already had some 4.5" versions of these that I was very impressed with, and saw these were MARGINALLY cheaper. I did not realize that they were 4" rather than 4.5". Once they showed up and I opened the package, I was met with an immediate feeling of disappointment. They were quite notably smaller than the others I had bought for VERY LITTLE additional money. I measured them and they were not quite even 4", I think that they were 3 7/8" or something. Anyway - the product is fine for its intended purpose, but when a 4.5" fits in the tool and costs so close to the same, these just are not worth buying.Best used for buffing, polishing and surface preparation jobs. These are NOT grinding disks. If you expect to do heavy material removal, you will be sad to have spent money on this. If you want to clean something up nicely to prepare for paint or polish, these are the type you need.Flexible, not stiff like some. Better for contours, but they do not last as long.
