I advise against the rope being used in whitewater rescue and especially pin and boat recovery situations. Under no circumstance use for kayak, raft, or canoe retrieval or pin situations.A WW rescue rope has to be capable of not breaking under extreme loads of around 2000 lbs in a haul system. NRS rescue throw bags meet that requirement and float better than this rope in fast current and rough water. Of course they also cost 3 times what this rope does. For pools, retrieving a swimmer in a lake or slow current river this rope should suffice. One mod needs to be made. Remove ring float and snap clip (biner). Untie rope at bottom of bag noticing length needed to retie with loop SMALLER than hand can fit in. Remove from bag and tie knot (fig 8 is best) that length from end of rope. Thread rope thru flat foam and hole in bottom of bag. Tie loop snug to bag. This keep the bag from sliding up the rope. Note: Never throw the bag with the spring clip or any hardware attached to bag or rope.

The carabiner Jaws can be injurious and snagging on the Rope or anything it's attached to. But other than that it seems fine

This is a great item for canoe trips. The bag is 8.5 inches in height (when cinched). The circumference of the bag with the rope in it is 14 inches. The diameter of the plastic orange ring is just over 6.5 inches. The black strap at the top of the bag has a buckle that is great for securing round a carry yoke or hand hold bar in a canoe.

Since we have to have one on the boat this one was perfect ! Nice and compact and easy to store . Haven’t had to use it yet but seems like good quality. Nice and light weight for anyone to be able to throw

I feel this bag will be a valuable piece of kit in the event of emergency. It seems to be made well, lightweight, and sufficiently long for most purposes. It comes with a steel carabineer that's fairly heavy and doesn't display a weight rating, so that's probably going to go.After several practice throws and recoils, I found the plastic ring is not helpful, and could hang up on obstacles. I took that off and retied the ends to be more effective with less chance of snags. Also tightened the rope to bag fit and now it meets my standards. For the price, I think it's pretty darn good but not perfect.
