Got Weavers, Petal, and a couple other varieties I can't recall as I type this but these are by far my favorite. The lightweight 8 oz is perfect for going up in the tree with and the stitching is thick, doubled and uses quality nylon thread. Thick canvas bags haven't busted seems or worried me after countless throws and getting stuck, wedged, yanked, cussed, and all the rest. These will bey go to unless I need to use a Meteor 2.

Seems like a very well made throw weight, unfortunately, the weight will not drop the line thru the tree limbs. I had to return for a heavier weight.

I am strictly a hobbyist when it comes to throw lines and weights, which I use occasionally to do temporary installation of wire antennas in the field. I've been using a good 12 ounce weight but haven't been able to get as much height as I'd like. I figured that a lighter weight might work better for me, and I was right. This 8 ounce weight is much easier for me to use considering my lack of experience and skill. The Cordura fabric is definitely rugged. On my second test throw I was a bit off target and managed to land the weight on the shingled roof of a shed. Despite the gritty, abrasive surface there was no noticeable wear on the fabric of the weight. All the stitching is good and tight and I think this will last me for a long, long time. I should note that I have also switched from 1/8 inch polypropylene to 1.75 mm Dyneema, and this 8 ounce weight is plenty heavy enough to really make that line "fly".

So I love this. I have used homemade versions of throw weights for decades. I have run over it dropped tools on it, my dog even used it for a toy one night. It’s still in great shape. The size and design is perfect for fitting between tree limbs and wrapping branches!!

Great for throwing lines up over tree branches and down the other side.

I had been throwing Dyneema line up into a tree to hang amateur radio antennas using a heavy fastener. Wish I picked this up months earlier. Its the perfect weight for making sure line comes back down.

I like the durable build quality. The color pattern is easy to see and the solid color patch differentiates the weight of the various Notch Throw Weights in my kit bag.

Notch isn’t a company I am huge fan of, but their throw balls work decent. Probably would have liked it, but never received it. The shipper did make amends though which was nice.
