Pulled a screw at 40ft. It was not a fun descent. I will not use these ever again nor will I allow them on my job.

Really good set of gaffs. I primarily use it to cut trees and it has worked well on some avocado and pine trees. It is really comfortable and its held up well for a couple of months now. Also, the shipping came in earlier than expected so that was a plus.

These climbers work great for me, although I had to buy new boots with a real heel (as well as a steel shank), as my hiking boot's almost flat composite rubber sole kept sliding around despite the climbers heavy-duty boot straps. The pole gaffs really bite into the relatively young 60' hemlock and spruce trees I have to remove.I'm 5'- 8" tall, ca 165 lbs, w 15" circumference calfs, and the climbers fit me perfect right out of the box, although with 5 layer Husqvarna protective chainsaw chaps (36"-38") over my thin nylon pants, the Velcro calf straps of the climbers only overlaped about an inch beyond the minimum wrap location. So bigger users may have a problem. But for me, they fit fine, work great, they're really comfortable, easy to get into & out of, and they look cool. The mid-range price was about $100 more than I wanted to spend initially, but the well made Notch equipment videos helped sell me on the climbers design & potential quality of the equipment made by the company. As this is my first pair of climbers, I'm unable to rate them compared to competitors climbers, and I'm uncertain how long the Velcro will hold up, but as I'm an occasional arborist (when a tree on my property must come down) I don't think their lifespan will be an issue.
