Nice and heavy, but not overly so. The pins seem sturdy but not going in the right direction for viking reenactment.

Package arrived with broken clasp- quick and simple replacement was ordered and arrived in time for the event I needed it for.

I figured it would be light and cheap since it’s from Amazon, but was actually a nice weight and very pretty. The clasp felt a bit flimsy but held together totally fine. Overall very pleased and would def recommend.

I was septical when I ordered it as sometime with jewellry the product you get is not as represented in the picture. I was really happy to see that it was not the case with this one! the details are all there, the size is perfect and the packaging very professional. Great quality, beautifull. Very happy with this purchase.

Love these broaches for my cosplay! They are a little heavy but that’s to be expected!

These come with their own pin backing and are of a very good size. They are of good quality and heavier weight than I expected (which I like).

Solid piece, not a cheap shell. Would buy again.

Great brooches! In archeology, these are always found in pairs. This listing is for a single brooch, so order two if you are trying to use them for a viking apron dress. We have no evidence that masculine persons ever wore these brooches. They wore penannular brooches, and occasionally shield or disc brooches.

Attempted to pin them to a bearskin.. The pins bent wildly and snapped off. Oh well, now I'll just have to sew them in place. 3/5

I was really happy AT FIRST with these. They seemed sturdy enough except for the pin.I wore them at a Renaissance Fair (I had Viking chains pinned on separately since they don't have a hook and didn't look like they'd be able to hold it up. They lasted less than 4 hours. I was walking and one just fell off. The pin just randomly broke. I wasn't even touching it. It's like the soldering or glue or whatever was holding it on just decided to give way. I wish I'd kept the bag so I could return it. These were cheap for tortoise shell brooches but still not worth the $25. Very disappointed. Avoid these.

These are such a nice casting. It's a shame that they are not bigger for reenactment as a Viking woman's turtle brooch. I bought these in Bronze.I decided to keep them and play around a bit. I love to gold leaf and have done it quite successfully with jewelry and beads.I am working on a Festoon which is jewelry consisting of chains and strung beads that was worn by women in the Viking era.I have my chain hangers which are a gold with double headed horses. So Cool. My chain matches that. My broches did not.I first Gold leafed the brooches, burnished them, sealed with a polyurethane sealer then when dried I used Rub n Buff. Antique Gold mixed with Spanish Gold and wiped it into the recesses. Then wiped some off. I wanted a little less shiny with an aged look. After I was happy with the look I tipped the high areas with a bright gold Mica powder. This might sound like a lot of work but it really isn't and I enjoy transforming things. They turned out beautiful!!There was enough detail in these broches to produce a lovely piece. Can't go wrong with the Price. Now if they were only an inch bigger.......
