I made taco salad bowls using both homemade masa and store bought tortillas. Took a little bit of experimenting with the rolled out masa dough thickness. Too thin they fell apart and too thick they turned out as hard as hockey pucks I then wised up and used my kitchen scale to play around with different weights of masa that when rolled between two pieces of 8" parchment paper discs as a guide would give me a good thickness after a couple test bakings. These were the first baked corn bowls I've ever eaten.. They tasted good and I'm sure healthier for me but I don't think they'd ever eliminate my craving once in a while for the puffy flaky deep fried flour taco bowls I love at our local restaurant.

Much smaller than you think. Only saw the photo shopper image which made it appear much larger. Size is for small taco. Other than that, it got stars because it does work

I tried making taco bowls with upside down bowls but what a pain and they weren't uniform. These molds are the perfect solution. They're a great price, are sturdy, super easy to clean, and they make a great taco bowl! ❤️

My husband made a surprise lunch using a store bought kit. He made a taco salad and was very excited to have done so. I thought I would make a more permanent gesture towards his culinary creativity and surprised him with this. He uses them all of the time to make culinary treats. The bowls work well. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because we are having difficulty making the PERFECT taco bowl. The first one was not crispy, but was still a bowl. The second one was a bit over done. I really like that I can make or buy the kind of tortilla I want. It is very hard to find organic corn taco bowls, but if you make your own tortillas or find organic tortillas, it is easy to make your own.

These are great! they work just as expected, and are a lot of fun. 10 min @ 400F and you have some perfectly crispy edible taco/salad bowls. 8 minutes may seem long enough, but in my experience, as soon as you add a filling, it will lose its shape and flatten out. the extra 2 minutes gives it the structure it needs to function as a bowl. Also, it's best to use them as soon as you bake them, they are not good if you try to store them overnight (filled or un-filled) they will re-hydrate and fall apart. They are 'non-stick' (Teflon coated I think), but make sure to use a non-stick spray before baking, otherwise they may stick and break/rip when you try to take them out.Use 9" tortillas, any brand, any type. Just make sure they're 9". The bowls they make are good for a single serving size, so the 4-pack is great for a family dinner, or having some friends over. The only negative about these, but it's not bad enough to take off a star, was the packaging. They came in a bubble-wrap envelope with nothing else. Just the molds, separated by plastic bags, in a bubble-wrap envelope. If your mail carrier isn't careful, they could be easily damaged.
