This is loud. Like it should be. Hope I never need it but should work to scare off a black bear. Went together well and easy to use.

These barely work, the plunger keeps getting stuck so you can’t push the air through to make the sound, they are made of flimsy plastic, at most makes a high pitched squeak, not very loud. We tried them for NYE celebration tonight and they were such a disappointment.

I work at a paintball and airsoft field and I bought these to use to start and end games and you can hear them over the entire property just fine. PS my dog hates them and happy to go inside if she even sees one let alone hear it.

I purchased this item with the sole intent of frightening the hell out of my coworkers. I have derived endless pleasure by surprising my coworkers with the loud raucous honk generated by this simple beauty. No power required.I’m sure there is some serous practical use for this item where it would excel, but why ruin the review with that silliness.

Got these to wake up my son since his alarm and turning on his light won't do it. Unfortunately the quick short burst from these isn't doing it either. You have to quickly press the plunger in or it won't make a sound. It does work great to get peoples attention when running around on our golf cart though.

A mother black bear and her cubs have recently taken up regular visits to my brother's apple trees for their supply of vitamin C, vitamin K, copper and potassium. If you want to take a walk, you must go within 10 feet of where they eat the apples. Not wanting to give up walking, my first thought was to get "bear spray" for protection. It did not take long to realize that this strategy would bring me close to the bears and possibly anger them. A loud horn to let them know that people were near by seemed like a much better strategy. This horn filled the bill. It is loud, not too large, and easy to use. The loud sound that it makes warns the bears without your having to get close to them and gives them plenty of time to move on. So far this has worked well for both the humans and the bears. One caveat is that the horn should always be pointed away from the user to avoid causing ear damage. It has solved my black bear problem. They would rather run than fight.JPE

Best little air horn with big sound. I wanted something to use for home security. Something that would startle anyone or animal that might be creeping around my home at night. Well this worked out great and the best part is that it’s reusable. It is a pump action horn so no need for refill and it doesn’t run out. I have a neighbor 3 streets away that heard this horn go off so sound wise, I was impressed. Very happy with purchase.
