The bearing arrived in good condition unboxed in a clear zip seal bag. The bearing has no other markings other than "nmd" and "279" on one side of the outer race. There's no country of origin on the bearing, as is required by US law, nor any other markings on either of the races or seals. No box and lack of info on the product itself usually means China.In fairness, NSK has discontinued the 398 bearing that this item fits, so you really may not have any other options. But, in my experience, Chinese quality is a crap shoot; it might last or it might not.
