The beauty of the Steelie Dash Mount Kit is in its simplicity. Using trusted Steelie magnetic mounting technology, this popular phone mounting system lets you be hands-free so you can keep your focus safely on the road. This all-inclusive kit includes one Steelie Magnetic Phone Socket with 3M VHB adhesive, one Steelie Dash Ball with 3M VHB adhesive, an alcohol prep pad, and easy installation instructions. The 3M VHB on the Dash Ball allows it to be secured to just about any smooth, hard, flat or vertical surface in your vehicle. The Magnetic Phone Socket also uses 3M VHB, so it adheres steadfastly to your phone or rigid case, but can be removed if you get a new Apple iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, or other phone or case. The socket features a powerful neodymium magnet and a smooth silicone ring that articulates with the steel ball on the Dash Mount. This allows your device to be tilted and viewed in landscape, portrait, and everything in between. This design ensures the phone stays securely in place, until you detach it from with a simple twist or tug. Speed bumps, potholes, quick turns are no match for Steelie's magnetic holding power. Because of its fumble-free, secure design, the Steelie Phone Mounting kits are legal in all 50 United States. Plus, when you reach your destination and detach your phone, the Magnetic Phone Socket on your device means you can still attach it conveniently to other metal surfaces: refrigerator doors, metal shelving, other Steelie Mounts, and more. Steelie neodymium magnets are safe for use with mobile devices but should be kept away from magnetically sensitive objects like credit cards, pacemakers or computer hard drives.

lifted 2012 GMC sierra 3500HD Denali - mounted on top center of dash.Owning a lifted truck you get used to bouncing all over the place and having a less than smooth ride. Never once has my phone came off the magnetic mount nor has the 3M tape ever failed. This is one of the few products that i didnt realize how much i needed it until i finally broke down and bought one. Theyre simple but yet worth every penny. I would say be very confident where you want this thing because when you place that 3m tape its not gonna move without significant force or chemicals to loosen the adhesive. Mounting the phone is such a reflex now. as sonn as i sit down I just basically almost toss my phone to the mount and it sticks to the mount. to take off you basically just twist your phone and it pops right off. the actual phone mount is very unintrusive and doesnt get hung up in my pocket. I honestly forget its even attached to my phone sometimes. The magnets are very strong so be careful not to get micro magnets stuck to it from dropping your phone in the dirt. Extra benefit is you can now stick your phone to any magnetic/metal surface which has come in handy for taking photos and using my phones flashlight. stop thinking about it and ditch your old phone mount.

I tried other phone holders and the phone just kept falling out of the cradle. This is tiny, discreet and totally effective. I didnt want to keep the magnet part on the back of my phone so I left another phone protection cover in the car and simply switch covers when using the phone in the car. I have an Audi 1.

I will never use anything else after this. Previously my phone would fall off if we hit bug bumps, or it was a hassle to put in the phone holder and same for taking it out. This item is worth every dollar. It's easy to install, it stays installed, easy to put the phone on and take off, and it's not an eye sore. My son got a new truck so I'm definitely going to have to order another! You will love it! Magnetic strength is not a sissy! That sucker stays!

Installed the mount on a clean oil free smooth flat plastic surface, let it sit for 24 hours before using and the next day during use the mount falls off the surface. The adhesive is really bad so you should expect to replace like I am. Went and bought out a roll of mounting tape to mount this to.

This thing ROCKS. I'm a Realtor and mom of 2 kids, so I spend tons of time driving in town and following GPS on my iPhone. It's difficult to drive safely and see the map, especially when I have clients in the car who expect me to appear to know where I'm going! I like to get a visual of where to turn even with the voice directions on, especially in town where turns are close together. A colleague of mine had a Steelie in her car and I decided to try one. I hadn't seen anything that looked like it would have a strong enough hold and could be adjusted easily so the screen is always in view. I was hesitant to stick the magnet on the back of my phone case, but it's right in the center and it's actually comfortable to put my finger there when I'm talking or texting. It's also cool because I can stick the phone to my fridge or vent fan in the kitchen when I'm cooking or cleaning, stick it to the side of the washer when I'm doing laundry, etc. It keeps it out of the way so it doesn't get misplaced or get dirty/wet.I was also concerned about attaching something to the dash in my car. It's a 2015 Altima so there's not a big, flat dash space within easy reach, and I am short, so not much reach! I placed it above one of the middle air vents. I can reach it without stretching too much, I can see it without looking down or becoming distracted, and my charger cord reaches easily. The only downer is that the bottom of my iPhone (5) hangs over the vent a little bit, but it isn't a big deal. When I have the AC cranked up high I just turn the phone so it's in a "landscape" (?) position and I can still see everything fine and enjoy the AC. When the phone isn't attached to it, the Steelie ball doesn't stand out at all. It looks like it's supposed to be there, if you notice it at all. I love it. Well worth the twenty bucks or whatever I paid.UPDATE after a month or two of use-- Be careful about putting your phone into your pocket or purse if you have credit cards in there. I usually carry my debit card in my wallet, but hastily stuck it in my front pocket a few weeks ago, and then stuffed my phone-- and the magnet-- into my pocket as well. My debit card's magnetic strip was erased. I don't know yet but I may have done the same thing to two different restaurant gift cards that were in the console of my car. Guess I'll see when I send the gift cards to pay the check! I am still very happy with this item, but I am more thoughtful about keeping it away from my cards. It would be useful if there was something I could place over the magnet to block it when it's not in use, but I guess I just have to remember it.

Not only was my Mercedes lacking in cup holders or storage space but the fact that I couldn't find a decent place to put my phone while driving was making me go crazy. I had tried numerous solutions.MISSION=Find a functional phone mount that looked as close to factory as possible.ATTEMPT #1: I purchased a phone holder that stuck to the dash via 3M tape that kept getting knocked off because it took up so much space. It was like an arm protruding from my dash that just wanted to poke me at the least optimal time. It was an eye sore.STATUS=FAILATTEMPT #2: I purchased a smaller phone holder that plugged into the cigarette lighter. This worked ok but was still bulky and didn't have the factory look I was aiming for.STATUS=FAILATTEMPT #3: This ones laughable. I decided to try a dash mat after seeing how well they worked in a friends boat. Excited, I found the perfect sport just under my radio. I tore the package open, "stuck" it to my dash and watched in disappointment as it slide down my dash like under-cooked spaghetti. My fiance found this humorous. I began trying to get it to stick anywhere and eventually resorted to tossing it against my dash like spaghetti against a refrigerator. No luck. It wouldn't stick to anything.STATUS=BIG FAIL(VENT CLIPS-I decided to forgo this option because I think they are the dumbest idea ever. I'm all set with sticking my phone in front of a heater. Phones aren't suppose to get hot.)ATTEMPT #4=I accidentally came across the Steelie Car Mount and was intrigued by its size. It was the most expensive phone mount I've come across thus far but also appeared to be the most promising after reading all the reviews. I had to buy it. Aside from the magnetic ring that looks rather out of place on my phone, this thing is awesome. I mounted it in my car in the same spot that the dash mat was suppose to go, between the stereo and heater controls. It's very functional and looks great. It's definitely worth every penny. The only improvement I would like to see, is a decrease in the size of the phone magnetic mount or at least offered in other colors so it's less noticeable on.STATUS=MISSION COMPLETE----------------------UPDATE-----------------------------------------------I've had this for a couple months now and still love it. One thing I never thought of when purchasing this was, will it interfere with my wireless charger? I tested this out and it will work but I wouldn't recommend it. The magnet gets ridiculously hot, so hot you can't touch it which could be a potential fire hazard. I, also, travel a lot and one night I had my phone in my pocket along with my hotel room key. When I returned to the hotel my key wouldn't work. The magnet on the phone wiped the data on the room key.
