Securing items in pickup bed is easy...much simpler than straps for small stuff.

So, I like niteize products. I think the products they make are/were generally the best quality you could get for their type of 'biners.Always wanted to try these... But I started using cottage manufacturers for similar items. So my comparison will be between these and similar items from the cottage hiking industry.Likes:1) Big and strong. No question these will stand up to some abuse.2) they are super easy & quick to use. That's the draw of these kinds of items and these deliver.3) can use larger diameter ropes with these.Dislikes:1) take up extra space and are heavier than similar items made from the specialized industry. They do work. The pros and cons kind of equal out. I got these exciting then to be a good option for Backcountry use, but believe them to be more of a base camp/truck camping item. That's why I took 1 star away, even though they weren't marked as such.I will keep these and use them often, just plan on using smaller/lighter specialized items for hiking trips.

These are great for tying stuff down in the back of your truck or wherever. It only takes a few seconds to get them tight. It’s much quicker than tying knots that do the same thing and some people don’t know how to tie them. I wouldn’t trust them to tie down a dirtbike or something like that but for most things they are perfect. I use them a lot while camping and backpacking as well. You can fly a tarp to get out of the rain very quickly and take it down without having to cut your ropes.

The larger size are great for tying down loads. The smaller size are great for tarp ridge lines and guy lines at camp. They are easy to use, especially when it’s cold out and you don’t have the dexterity to tie a trucker hitch or taut line hitch with gloves on. They are lightweight, well engineered and nicely machined.
