I do not think this lens was produced by Nikon. It came in packaging saying NC Digital and from supposedely Nikon you get piece of lens cleaning cloth with Nikon printed on it. About optical performance? Center is OK, but edges quickly fall off. I will continue to use no name macro lens I have bought many years ago in some no name shop on Manhattan streets.

This lens does exactly what it says it will. I love it. Not only is the lens amazing but the seller is the most patient and knowledgeable person that I have dealt with. I recommend this lens and this seller. Both are awesome.
