(This method is acceptable and passes all major brands guidelines). This lens has two achromatic elements to correct chromatic aberrations. This lens has made a huge difference in my insect pictures. The macro setting is pretty good on this camera to begin with but the lens will help bring out tiny details. This camera has hardly any manual controls and once the lens and extension tube are on, you have to physically move the lens closer or further away from the object. For clearer pictures, put your camera in macro mode and zoom out away from the object. Then physically move the lens closer towards it. A tripod or a very steady hand are also a must. While taking a shot, hold your breath if you have to. I'm giving it 4/5 stars because it's very difficult to take pictures in a high contrast setting without getting blue or rainbow colored glare on the sides and in the shadows of the object. Chromatic Aberration is a big problem with this lens if you don't know how to properly edit it out in Photoshop.
