It works. Was blowing fuses on my mower. Replaced the the old unit with this one. Way cheaper than the OEM part.

My husband had a issue with his zero turn mower charging system. After doing research he discovered that it might be a bad part. Ordered this and to my surprise it came the next day as promised. Replaced it on the mower and it seemed to do the trick, it is charging again.

Not a Kohler OEM part but dimensions, mounting screw holes, and connector all identical. Plugged it in and it worked. Not all Kohler replacement parts work. This one did and at a fraction of the OE cost. Now, if it only last...

I've got a 2000 Craftsman GT, with a 20 HP Kohler Command V-twin that started having starting issues. I had noticed that the amp meter was showing a discharge when mowing as well; the electric PTO clutch would draw some amps and I figured it was just old and not accurate; however I was wrong. The battery died, the tractor wouldn't start. After replacing the battery (testing the old one showed it was actually bad) I finally found that it was not charging while running. Thank goodness I had ordered this at the same time as the battery. 2 bolts and a plug to replace this, and I'm showing good charge going to the battery again.

Sep 2022 Update: I returned my first regulator because I felt it was running too high a voltage (over 15.4 volts when battery was charged.) The replacement unit started off around 15.1v (acceptable) and was at 13.9v at the end of a mowing session. That is more in line with an acceptable level with a fully charged battery. I have been in electronics for over 40 yrs. Buying electronic items on line is risky since so much of what is sold today is cheaply made. I depended on the well-worded reviews for this product, paid a few more $$$ than the very cheapest and I am completely satisfied. Might be the same product in the same case but others gave this item 5 stars and I have as well. 5 min installation with only two screws. My 'lazy' old regulator put out only about 12.8V at full throttle and the battery would go flat in my L110 John Deere rider in 2-3 wks. I would charge up the battery and it was fine....till it ran down. Culprit was the regulator that had lost full capacity. Now its putting out 15.4V at full throttle and about 14.9V at low idle. More than enough (might even be a bit too 'hot') to keep the battery in top shape. Recommended!
