This is a nice quality portfolio. The fabric is thick and the construction is sturdy. The size is as described. There are handles and an adjustable strap/straps. The adjustable straps each have a plastic buckle and can be popped open and clipped back together in three different configurations. The side has a large zipped pocket as well as a smaller pocket with hook and loop closure for stashing small items and supplies. You can fit quite a bit in the pockets, the sipper pocket would easily fit a standard size school notebook, so there is a lot of room for whatever you might want to tote with your portfolio. The bottom corners have a pleather reinforcement on the outside. "On the outside" is to say that the patch of pleather is located on the surface, but the actual corner and bottom of the portfolio are not given this extra layer of protection. I suppose this might be beneficial if you had framed canvases or something which somehow needed to be protected from bumping objects in transit. However, I think the real risk of wearing through or causing damage to your works while dropping your portfolio, would be located at the bottom/on the outside edge of the bag.The number one factor that will keep me from being able to give this portfolio more than 3 stars is that it has a really limited point of access. Ideally, a portfolio would be able to open like a book along three sides. A zipper that goes across the top and down one side would allow for safe placement and access of your works. At a minimum, you need it to open a few inches beyond the width on each side. As you can see from my photos the zipper isn't only limited to the length of the top, but the fact that they added reinforcements to the ends creates a narrower opening. For a purse, adding strength to the sides of the zipper is a bonus because you pull at it multiple times a day. For a portfolio, the #1 duty is to protect your work. A narrow inflexible opening will get you bent corners and damaged edges.I could give this 4 stars if the zipper were better, but the lack of any rigidity is also an issue. Of course you can add foam core, cardboard, or some other rigid material to the inside to protect your artwork; however, the fact that the opening is so narrow will prevent you from adding stability that goes from edge to edge. You can only add something that will fit into the opening...which is still smaller than the width of the bag. This really is a nice bag. It is waterproof, the straps are strong and versatile. The stitching is neat and there are no missed stitches nor gaps. It is lacking any and all off-putting scents. The zippers move smoothly. The buckles are easy to open but still secure.I am a bit torn as I try to rate this 3 or 4 stars. On one hand I am impressed by the attractiveness and sturdy nature of this portfolio bag, on the other the limitations of the opening are a significant disappointment. I will give it 4 stars because for the current price this is a portfolio that will do a lot of good for a student who needs to tote and store their artwork. If you are a professional think of it as a 3 star item and find something more expensive that will offer more protection and open properly.

I love that this is big enough to fit the red-brown card stock weight envelope style art portfolios. I can use those to organize the art inside this waterproof one (plus this one has an actual handle). It’ll be good for both long term storage and taking art to set up shows. It arrived folded, which means you can fold it when not in use if you want.

I was initially horrified when I received this portfolio case, even though it was exactly what I'd ordered. Despite the fact that the product description said it could be folded up, I'd still mentally envisioned it with the built-in hard sides of the portfolio cases available at craft stores. I'd planned on the hard sides protecting my smaller projects even though the bag itself was big enough for all but my biggest projects to get lost in it. It's sturdy, and the waterproofing seems substantial. As someone else mentioned, it's easy enough to add stiffness with some cardboard or foam core, both of which are very light. And this bag is still big enough for a whole scriptorum's worth of projects, each on their own piece of foam core. That'll be useful, and I like that it has leather to protect the corners. There are two smaller pockets on one side, both big enough for my usual project. The larger one has a zipper, the smaller one is open at the top.Conveniently, the bag has two sets of straps, both nicely centered so they're in line with the majority of the weight you're likely to carry. The smaller set is for carrying it in your hand, while the longer set are adjustable and go over your shoulder.

This portfolio is amazing - way better than I was expecting. For one, it’s huge, yet easy to carry and well made for what it is. At first I was disappointed to see that no shoulder strap was included, but then I realized that there were two longer, adjustable straps - one for each side - that served the same function as the traditional shoulder strap. This works far better, because the straps are closer to the center and much less unwieldy than a strap connected to each of the ends would be. When I took art classes in college, I had a smaller portfolio set up like that and it was a bit of a pain to carry. This one isn’t. Do be aware that you will meed to make or purchase your own insert for this, but that’s pretty standard. (In college, we cut two pieces of cardboard from a large box and taped two sides together, to offer more rigidity and protection for our pieces. I’d recommend doing the same here, depending on your intended use.) I plan to use this to store posters and art projects - everyone could use one of these. Unfortunately I lost mine during my last cross country move, but I am elated to have found such a nice replacement. The size I ordered might be overkill for an art student, and most people. I don’t plan to use this to transport items, but for storage only, so it’s perfect for me. If you need something portable, I’d recommend getting a smaller size. Although for being as large as it, it’s still surprisingly comfortable to carry.A few of the features that I appreciate are the pockets on the side. These are large enough for a large pad, and there is a zippered pocket almost as large for as many supplies as you are likely to need.I’d highly recommend this portfolio for students and hobbyists alike - it’s an incredible value!
