I seem to prefer this brand over the big chain and bar supplier named after a certain U.S. state. So far he’s hold up much longer than the other brand which seem to lose their edge after 5 or 6 chain sharpenings.

I am amazed at how cheap they priced this set of 3 files. They are true Nicholson files made in brazil. These days it's either mexico or brazil, and both countries make decent quality files close to what the USA made ones were like. One thing I found to be of concern was that the tang easily bends. But judging by the way the teeth cuts, the heat treatment at the teeth are fine. I cut stainless steel with it, making a ring for myself, and it cut good and like the way files are meant to cut. I just bent it back straight and carried on when the tang bent. After I was done with the ring I checked the teeth against my finger and they seem just as sharp as when I started. These are quality files, genuine Nicholson at a price cheaper than the knockoffs.

These files have very fine, double-cut teeth, and leave a very smooth surface finish. I use them for tight corners in my welding and blacksmithing projects, and for filing in a choil and fine detail work on my knives.Be warned, you'll want a handle for them. Make sure to buy one, or make your own.I can't believe these are so inexpensive. They're great files, heads and tails better than the Chinese junk files you find at home improvement stores.
